Re: HFCC 30 days left of new work

A device must show an under 2 days current average return time AND a less then 0.2% running error rate.

Re: HFCC 30 days left of new work

Are you referring to our internal challenge over at at XtremeSystems?

Hi Snow Crash,

This thread is the one I was referring to.

Regards,
Martin

That is an internal challenge within our forums at XtremeSystems to drive membership and production. We are not targeting HFCC or any other project specifically. Our daily points have risen from about 7 million to about 17 million daily and while some people who already crunch at WCG have switched over to our team (my guess it accounts for 1 to 1.5 million points) , that was never our goal ... we are simply trying to get new people to crunch. If you look at the global stats, the WCG totals have not increased overall by the same 10 million which should be noticeable so I would guess that we are only stemming the tide of the beginning of the normal early summertime slowdown. I'm into the badges as much as the next person but I hope you are not suggesting we stop producing the 8-10 million new points per day we have brought to WCG to satisfy personal badge goals.

Anyway, one would assume that, once the WU's are getting scarce, most will be picked up by those who buffer up and less by the "general public".

hugs Noooo - bring in as much power as you can, and let's finish the projects as early as possible, please! I have been trying to warn badge hunters pretty early, so anyone following this forum could have at least got a hint that supply of new WUs might end soon, weeks ago.

You seem to think that your challenge doesn't bring significant additional computing power to WCG - maybe I was overestimating that a bit. Anyway, this in turn means that we will not see a significant drop in computing power at the end of the challenge, and as a result of that - and badge hunters filling their buffers - the end of WU supply may even rather come sooner than later. wink

Regards,
Martin

Don't forget, before you hit the heights you're hitting now, Mr. Kermit was pumping out the work. Now he's gone silent as usually happens. I'm sure that massive array of his has actual work to do, and will certainly return as it can. In short, the XS team is doing quite the stand-in for Mr. Kermit - no small feat!

More likely that WU are being picked up by crunchers who have only selected HFCC and less by crunchers who have selected multiple projects.

There's still enough for getting the odd jobs on a HCMD2/HFCC/HCC mix profile device... keeping it selected mostly to see the task numbers progress.

edit: For the last one popped in, it had # 2327129 or quasi constant supply of 11-13 days for s2.

Re: HFCC 30 days left of new work

Going for Blue x 5 as I agree it is a great project, the points are the best per hour so far for me. We all have a equal chance at the begning of the project and can focus our resources on those projects that are important to us for points, number of results or a person reason as cancer has affected us personslly. I feel for those who are trying to get to a certain badge level as I have come up short several times when I became aware of the project ending before I expect due to not paying close enough attention but its a great project and the jets are on!

My last estimate showed close to 13 days of work. :) Again only an estimate.

Re: HFCC 30 days left of new work

theoretically every "1+"-core machine holder still can get at least Bronze badge
