BOINC calc logic. 10 seconds times 1.01 is 11 seconds... oh well, not worth pondering over.

BOINC calc logic. 10 seconds times 1.01 is 11 seconds... oh well, not worth pondering over. BOINC doesn't use fractional seconds, so all times is rounded-up to the nearest second. ![]() Besides, when it comes to calculation, I'm still interested to know how you're managing to get host.error_rate += 0.05; // adds 0.05 to a number to be the same as host.error_rate *= 1.05; // increases number with 5% ![]() ![]() "I make so many mistakes. Every time you don't get any work, but there was one (or more) beta-wu's available but you can't get these due to "wrong" platform, you'll be hit with the 1-hour deferral... Hmm, so next time there's a windows-only beta, and anyone has selected projects that doesn't have work, the linux/mac-computers should get the 1-hour deferral. ![]() This is probably why I was seeing this. I've got one profile that basically is DDDT2 only. I've gotten virtually all but 3-4 of the betas I've crunched over the years just since DDDT2 started. I figure because of this profile. Seems like if there's no work for your selected projects and you don't take work from unselected projects and there are betas available, you get betas. If there's work for any of your selected projects, you'll get that instead. I can't say you don't get betas in that case but it sure seems a LOT less likely. I hadn't seen anything other than the 10 second interval before but the one hour due to the linux-only beta makes sense. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by keithhenry at May 31, 2010 12:01:43 AM] |
