is WCG log-in tied to key in password? [RESOLVED]

Just asking, let say if I installed BOINC and log in to WCG (using my account) at my parent PC when I was off for a holiday, if I change the password to my account now, can that installation of BOINC/WCG download work and upload result? Or it has to be dis-attach and re-attach again?

I plan to install BOINC/WCG at other family members too, but plan to control it from one account only.

Re: is WCG log-in tied to key in password?

Far as I know a password change only affects those that have a client that was attached to WCG via the weak account key. Changing the password changes that key and in fact, you wont even have to change the password to have that weak account key revised. There's a special link on My Profile to force that.

In summary, changing your password does not affect your own or the parent's client if you attached via normal memberID/Password.

Re: is WCG log-in tied to key in password?

Thanks.

That's solved a lot of the problem. Instead of visiting them, I'll just e-mail them and ask their IT-able kids to do it! :-)

After your parents have done what the IT-able kids want them to do, change the password, for if your parents become IT-able, they might change it for you and change the project selection too ;o)

(just kidding-able of course)

PS: When happy, please do the insert of [RESOLVED] in the opening post title, just like I did to this post.
