Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 44smilesmile

Great new record! My points were an anomoly. Huge PV jail break for me from ten pages to three. I'm only runnng 12 threads. Sometimes we all get lucky at the same time.

Judson is correct, HPF2 really sucks to run. Low points, huge quorum and :711 errors. sad

Later. coffee

Thanks for the info, DM and Judson. Now I'm off HPF2 until it stabilizes.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 44smilesmile

Changed to projects that earn points! HPF-2 wasn't cutting it but HCMD-2 likes my machines and despite what they say I believe certain projects garner more points per hour run. What a team!

Points have never been the same across projects. They try to keep them close though. I DO miss Rice and HFCC. Rice in particular was worth 10-15% more than the other projects. Look at your Stats by Project on your My Grid page and compare the points on each project by equivalent run times.

I dont think there is much difference in points--it depends on processor and operating system--Windows uses to much junk--but i do need it on one machine

Guess is depends on how much is much. I looked at my numbers and figured points per hour of runtime based on the figures from my My Grid page. All my machines have run Windows and, for the past three years have been C2Ds and a quad. These are the numbers I got:

Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - Phase 2 122.72634 points/hour
Help Conquer Cancer 104.81049
Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2 94.51116
FightAIDS@Home 84.65203
Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2 131.53563
Help Fight Childhood Cancer 120.90412
Nutritious Rice for the World 121.89772

It is true that FAAH and HPF2 were crunched some on my old Pentium M single core prior to three years ago and I would expect that to lower their numbers some but to this extent?

I dont know--you have done the math--i concede--at this time i can hardly count on my fingers--i am looking at the time it takes to complete a task and Ubuntu is faster--from 20min to one hour Human pro on windows 6.01hrs-Ubuntu 5.10.04 one of my machines is allready working on july 13 tasks--but the windows machine is also--who knows-its all for the good!!

Well, we are talking about a cable company here. For plenty of folks, that says enough. However, in today's scroogified business environment, I'd bet that you have one person staffing the place period. 10-6 is an eight hour day but they probably have 15 minutes before and after to open and close. After all, why would they get paid for a lunch break? As for the once a month 11am gig, probably some specific situation that could be anything but probably something procedural like a monthly accounting close that they have to do.
