Hello, I would be very happy if you a signature for me so I can promote WCG
![]() One question though : can you confirm me that the sig automatically updates even if I do absolutely nothing ? |

But who's going to tell Randomballoon?? I personally wouldn't worry too much about Randomballoon - as he's only made the 1 post in the entire forum, and that was to request a signature... Randomballoon's Forum Contributions Also, like myself, once this new project launches, he'd automatically loose his Guru status - as he'd fall below the 90% of badges requirement (even if that's only for a short time whilst he's without a Bronze badge for project #18). While it is true Randomballoon only had 1 post, that was because I changed my name right before posting I received my guru status. I didn't like my old one and wanted to changed it before I announced the guru. I'm not a big forum poster, but I do read them often and have my sig linked on my homepage so I can see it. I use it more for tracking my stats, not so everybody else can see them, although I don't mind sharing at all. While I did enjoy my short time as a guru, I do agree with having a beta badge as a requirement. I actually only just recently signed up for the beta project and I haven't received many WUs. On that topic, any advice on how to get any more of those so I can earn my crown back? p.s. Thanks for thinking of me SNURK :) [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 17, 2011 5:52:01 AM] |

The usual. Pay attention to the forum and when you see imminent beta set your profiles to accept nothing else and wait just like the rest of us.

What also helps is to "Watch" the Beta announcements thread. This way you will receive an email when one of the techs posts a Beta announcement.
----------------------------------------Go here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/listthreads?forum=181. On top of the page you'll see: You are NOT watching this forum - Watch this Forum . Click it and you're done. It now says: You are watching this forum. Then what KWSN - AS said. Once the Beta's are (to be) released, change your profile and select only one project that is known to have no work, like one of the intermittent ones. That way you will only be fishing for Betas. No guarantees of course, and be carefull not to let your systems run out of work, that would be a shame. Then of course don't get upset if one or more workunits fail once you do manage to get them. After all it's still Beta testing. You'll get the hang of it. Good luck inching your way towards a Beta badge. ![]() P.S.: You'll be happy to read this recent post by bbover3 (3rd post in thread) in which he confirms a number of new projects are to be launched: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,29148 ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by SNURK at Aug 17, 2011 6:41:42 AM] |

Thanks for the ideas SNURK and KWSN - A Shruberry. I know I turned off everything for the DDDT2 and got quite a few with the recent rain. Hopefully they have a GPU project in the works but i'll happily crunch anything.
