Good Morning Everyone. coffee coffee

My new cruncher is broken. Seems the owner does not know as much as he thinks he does. sad Oh well. I'll wear it down. smile

Pramodp Hope that got it. I suppose there were several reboots along the way. If not, there probably should have been. Good to hear from you.

Dave: That bed working for you? My sister in law had one of those hospital beds in one of their spare bedrooms. I used to like to sleep in it.

Welcome Back Mike OSullivan!

Welcome back xterm2232!

smile smile

Crunching started for hour or so and went again back to the same error msg .... This is frustrating .. I hope fix is on the way as I am not really contributing anything to the grid crying

It is really hard to tell what is going on from here. I have little advice but perhaps it has something to do with several different things.

1) Your computer power settings. I am assuming windows. Check Power settings in Control Panel. Make sure that you are set on "High Performance"\
2) Download the latest BOINC from the WCG website. During the install make sure you push the "Advanced" button and check the two options other than the screen saver option are checked. I never check the screen saver thingie because it just uses processor time.

See if either of those makes a difference. confused

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 46smilesmile

Panic!!! I was getting ready to lay down in my new hospital bed for a nap. Since my power wheelchair was getting low on its charge I was hooking it up to the charger when a circuit breaker popped. I had already taken off my prosthetic leg and the six stump socks I wear with it. Of course, my cordless phones were out. Even my emergency 911 lanyard was out. On that circuit is my oxygen concentrator. Two of my PCs are on that circuit as well. The new bed on the same circuit. I guess it was the straw that broke the back and tripped the breaker. So, in the dark and without oxygen, I had to put on my stump socks and my leg. I then had to transfer from my bed to my motorized chair and then scoot to the other room to reset the breaker.

Dang.... That sounds dangerous. I think some redistribution of electrical load is in order in the short term. Hopefully there are other circuits available to run some of that stuff. Thinking about it, the redistribution on multiple circuits seems important with the critical stuff spread on multiple circuits. Also plans for what to do during a power outage. Do you have a way to store oxygen? That 911 lanyard needs to be looked at...does it have a "base station" or something like that? Seems to me that you might need a battery backup for that puppy. I suppose one for a computer might do it?
Scary
Edit2> Also a battery backup for the base station on the cordless phones. ??

Hi RT. Yes I think it was a dangerous situation. My participation here in the World Community Grid has already caused power redistribution around here. Unfortunately you don't have much latitude here because building is so old. I do plan to bring in battery backup for critical things such as my telephone and oxygen concentrator. I am also going to bring a tank of oxygen into my bedroom in case something like this happens again.
