This is really an interersting discussion on the inverters and islanding. I have learned a good deal, and it all makes sense. I had not thought about the backfeed nor the syncronization issues.

This is really an interersting discussion on the inverters and islanding. I have learned a good deal, and it all makes sense. I had not thought about the backfeed nor the syncronization issues. I really could use some non-billable electrical power. Good Morning Team Unfortunately, I cannot modify this system at all since it's leased. But, I am thinking about building a smaller system to run my pool pump during the summer months. It shouldn't cost a lot of money as all I am looking at is a pair of panels, a small inverter and a pair of batteries. The system will only have to run a 10 amp motor and most of the time it will be during daylight hours. I haven't priced anything out yet and a 10 amp motor under a load is going to demand some power. Plus, if it's not enough power it can burn the motor up. But, that is going to be my summer project.
