I have XP Home. I recently uninstalled BOINC and since then, my screen saver keeps reverting to None. I see someone else has had a somewhat similar problem but there is no answer to that.

Right click on your desktop, select properties, screen saver, and use whatever screen saver you want from the list.

Yes, I'm very experienced with computers. BOINC has done something to my screensaver. I saw in the registry it had a 0 for ScreensaverActive and thought by changing it to 1 it would be ok, but that hasn't solved the problem.

Hi CBrundage,
1 = True 0 = False The Registry should say False for everything about a BOINC screensaver. I would try a fresh install, telling it not to use a screensaver, then uninstall. Then choose No Screensaver. See what happens after a reboot. If the Control Panel still says No Screensaver, then try selecting a new screensaver. That ought to work. If it does not, tell us all the details. ![]() Lawrence |

I did a new install, set it to no screensaver and then used an uninstaller program to remove it. Now again when I boot up it is set to None.

Every time I reboot it has gone back to None. Reads like some local/group policy is restoring whatever you've previously selected. Try blank/empty screensaver, first without a password, then with password. If you log out and log in, does it also reset, or only when you boot? --//-- |
