Hello I am using BOINC for Fights AIDS@Home on my old iMac G5. Recently it seemed to stop working and was unable to connect. It just kept saying "contacting local host" but nothing ever happened even though my internet connection was working as normal.
The only thing I can think I did was to shut down BOINC temporarily to do a virus scan. When I restarted it, it seemed unable to connect even after several restarts. It never started up automatically like it used to and even when re-started manually, just could never connect. I have uninstalled it and would like to try re-installing it, but I'm not sure how to do it without losing my existing account and scores etc. Is there a particular procedure I should follow please? Thanks for any help in advance. |

Just reinstall Boinc.
----------------------------------------Use your existing account, WCG Name (RSteve) and Password, when attaching to the WCG project - any credit you might have is associated with your account, and so will remain.
