Hi,
----------------------------------------First, set the Activity Menu to "run always" as else you're continuously going to see Thu 24 Feb 2011 01:30:10 PM IST Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high Thu 24 Feb 2011 01:30:20 PM IST Resuming computation Thu 24 Feb 2011 01:30:30 PM IST Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high Thu 24 Feb 2011 01:30:40 PM IST Resuming computation Thu 24 Feb 2011 01:30:50 PM IST Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high Thu 24 Feb 2011 01:31:00 PM IST Resuming computation Second, is there any form of active firewall or antivirus? For starters... ttyl. PS, Account manager error: file not found makes me think of BAM or GridRepublic being linked to this client? True / False. My Linux device for weeks has the below when synching with BAM, which does not bother me as I don't do anything active with BAM. 5527 24-02-2011 12:44 Contacting account manager at http://bam.boincstats.com/ 5529 World Community Grid 24-02-2011 12:44 [checkpoint_debug] result ts01_a136_sqb004_0 checkpointed edit: A bonus Wiki page how external to WCG account manager work http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/AccountManagement . WCG as yet is not fully BAM implemented. BAM is not allowed to enter changes into the My Grid device profile. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Feb 24, 2011 11:49:04 AM] |

Addendum,
One suspicion is that you tried attaching to an account manager, then entering the WCG URL. Thu 24 Feb 2011 01:31:37 PM IST Contacting account manager at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ You need to go the add/attach project route if you did that, then pick the project. |

Thanks,
----------------------------------------1. Changed activity to "Run Allways" 2. While choosing "Connect to a project" everything works great. Edit: one more thing.. I want to set Boinc to autostart on system logon but I wish it to be in the Notification area rather then the taskbar, possible in gnome\linux? Great to hear, so on that, please edit your opening post and insert [RESOLVED] in the title, just as I did to this post... to me it's a first for a member to try to attach to WCG this way ;>)
Generally on Linux, BOINC is installed as a self starting service/daemon i.e. it's loaded before signing in.... does not need the BM to start to run the service. Loading it minimized to the panel I'm not aware of that... there is no BOINC systray concept for Linux FAIK, though from other apps such as Synapse I know it could be coded to do so and than an added option (talk to Berkeley developers or put it on their wish list at their forums). There is a BM switch so it starts like a minimized application... It's /s (silent) as addition to the launcher command line. Will only work on Windows if the app is specified to launch in a "normal" sized window. --//-- |

So basicly I don't need to do anything after the installation and first config (project etc) and boinc will auto-start without the need of the open manager window? it can certinly save the time.
I'll figure it out... Thanks for your help! |
