Re: UK

Good Morning Team smile

I have now hit 5 Years for FAAH biggrin , thats my 3rd project with 5 years on it (HFCC, HCC & FAAH), I'm now turning my attention to Human Proteome Folding, to get that to 5 years (which will take some time as I am barely over 2 years at the moment), and to give HCC a small helping hand to 6 years (assuming no new projects).

My stats may drop a little due to the long wait for HPFP2 work units to validate sad

Re: UK

whether the UK team has anyone running Linux with a graphic card capable of GPU.

24 hours on and there were no BETA results returned by the team so I guess the answer's no.

Nice uplift for Thargor from the temporary on-test machine: 0:047:11:48:27 biggrin

And congratulations to themoonscrescent on making post #1,500 in this thread. wink

Re: UK

It's Tough at the Top!! sad

As a general rule for most members, if you crunch on a regular basis you'll keep advancing up the (RT) Rankings. smile

Not so at the top!

The UK team has 13 members ranked in the Global5000 RunTime Rankings. With the exception of gibbcorp and Mike_UK all of them crunch on a daily basis. Only 6 are continuing to improve their ranking:
		               Highest Current
crooks_uk 759 759
Mike_UK 1,137 1,406 -269
Apis Tintinnambulator 1,267 1,452 -185
RTS48 1,456 1,456
themoonscrescent 1,632 1,632
dmc_1970 1,740 1,779 -39
djerram 2,290 2,382 -92
dubmail.net 2,694 3,071 -377
CONNIE 2,858 3,087 -229
Thargor 2,993 2,993
gibbcorp 3,506 3,946 -440
t0ka 3,607 3,609 -2
gordoma 4,956 4,957 -1

Figures over the last 9 months. toka and gordoma negatives are temporary.

Re: UK

New PBs, oops. I have installed Windows 8 which seems to come with a hidden feature "turn computer on in the middle of the night" because I have come downstairs to a running computer quite a few mornings now. Or maybe it's a cat switching it on. Electricity bill, one dreads to think... but wcg benefits :-)

I have my gaming PC and fileserver that are "always on", and a PlayStation 3 (media player) and laptop (work) that are on when I'm at home.

My electricity bill is interesting, to say the least - I should take out shares in my provider! laughing

Re: UK

@ Thargor

Another nice ½day update biggrin 0:024:07:41:22

Is that extra HCMD work (about 2 wks?) going to be any help in upgrading your Emerald badge or is it too much to do?

Re: UK

I too have a fileserver which is always on, and upgraded a while ago to a quad core. And a little web/mail server as well so the energy bills are always a delight to behold as it is... and always going up. At least my latest upgrade, from a very early Intel Pentium D to an AMD Phenom II X6, is "saving" electricity -- 180 down to 130W: bonus! Totally justifiable for that reason alone biggrin Plus, this was actually enough of an increment in performance to notice the difference
