Those poems were written by Hermann Hesse. http://www.poemhunter.com/hermann-hesse/ A Lady thought that a couple of my poems reminded her of the style of Hermann Hesse's poems. Anyway, about 7 years ago at Midnight, a drunken driver ran a red light and crashed into my Fiancée's car and killed her. |

Hello Nap2614...The message I got from your poem, A Blockhead by Amy Lowell, (which rings true)
----------------------------------------is that all too often we do not appreciate what we have until it's gone. I'm not familiar with Lowell's works but found this one delightful. Sea Shell, Sea Shell, Sing me a song, O Please! A song of ships, and sailor men, And parrots, and tropical trees, Of islands lost in the Spanish Main Which no man ever may find again, Of fishes and corals under the waves, And seahorses stabled in great green caves. Love lost or gained are major motivations for poetic expression. Echoes No one could tell the world of hell That swallowed me I hid the pain 'neath counterpane And tried to flee. Try as I might the endless night Goes on and on And who knows if I'll love again Now that you're gone. I heard the rain come pouring down It hurt so bad Could I stay sane, my life regain What I once had. It's been so long, an empty song I can't escape There's no repair, no bandage there To mend the break. My lips may smile yet all the while The heart can't lie It's time at last to call it past And say goodbye. |
