This is very touching, Johnny Cool
- the dog in your siggy looks sad too in spite of dressing up
- feel like patting both him and you on your heads
Please tell us that everything turned out well in the end ...

Those poems were written by Hermann Hesse.

A Lady thought that a couple of my poems reminded her of the style of Hermann Hesse's poems.

Anyway, about 7 years ago at Midnight, a drunken driver ran a red light and crashed into my Fiancée's car and killed her. sad

Re: Poetry - just poetry ....

oh, no, such things shouldn't happen
- now I shall pat your head, Johnny Cool

I'm sorry, I don't know too much poetry - not even Hermann Hesse who is from just south of my border.
But given the circumstances and what you have posted before,
- which I believe was your own writing
you could easily have outdone Hermann ...

Re: Poetry - just poetry ....

Hello Nap2614...The message I got from your poem, A Blockhead by Amy Lowell, (which rings true)
is that all too often we do not appreciate what we have until it's gone. I'm not familiar
with Lowell's works but found this one delightful.

Sea Shell, Sea Shell,
Sing me a song, O Please!
A song of ships, and sailor men,
And parrots, and tropical trees,
Of islands lost in the Spanish Main
Which no man ever may find again,
Of fishes and corals under the waves,
And seahorses stabled in great green caves.
Sea Shell, Sea Shell,
Sing of the things you know so well.

Hello again, JC smile
I also enjoy the style of Hermann Hesse, ergo would love to read more
from you. Sorry to learn of your personal tragedy.
Love lost or gained are major motivations for poetic expression.

Echoes

No one could tell the world of hell
That swallowed me
I hid the pain 'neath counterpane
And tried to flee.

Try as I might the endless night
Goes on and on
And who knows if I'll love again
Now that you're gone.

I heard the rain come pouring down
It hurt so bad
Could I stay sane, my life regain
What I once had.

It's been so long, an empty song
I can't escape
There's no repair, no bandage there
To mend the break.

My lips may smile yet all the while
The heart can't lie
It's time at last to call it past
And say goodbye.

Beauty is not in the eye of the beholder, Rather it is within the heart. I shall be visiting often and maybe contributing.

Agreed... Different people possess different standards of beauty anyway. The eyes see, the heart feels
and this heart is looking forward to your next visit.
Welcome, dliw! smile

Cann't help it, but may I ask: Where are you from, dliw?

..."sort of accomplice" - silly girl biggrin... I hope we're not committing any crime here...
Perhaps collaborator or aide-de-camp has a softer connotation. wink
Thank you, lm for initiating this thread.

Seduction by Violin

My eyelids are closing...
No longer able to resist.

A master, letter-perfect in the art
Tenderly strokes my soul.

The lure of the strings
Too great...Too intimate

And I let go...

Re: Poetry - just poetry ....

Hi NAP2614...

Been having problems with my modem/internet on and off since yesterday. Should be corrected (I hope) later this afternoon.

Like a spotlight that sweeps the stage, your Moon captures the scene below beautifully. That was lovely! Keep them coming. smile
