Re: what's up old-timers?

Joined WCG the 1st. week they had work available for Windows/BOINC. cool

Joined UD back then they launched the "Think"-cancer-project in 2001, but ditched it fairly quickly due to the UD-Agent, so as long as WCG only used UD-Agent it wasn't an option for me.

confused
...
You're probably correct that Find-a-Drug used THINK, but UD in collaboration with Intel and Oxford launched their Cancer-project in April 2001, and this was using the THINK-software developed by Oxford...
Wikipedia says the same, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grid.org#Cancer_Research_Project

Not sure if it was in 2002 UD stopped using THINK and started using something else instead, and I've not any idea on then they switched from using members.ud.com to grid.org either, since had already stopped running UD. sleep

....that's the trouble being an old-timer....the memory goes! correct UD started with Think and switched to Ligandfit. Keith Davies developed Think Version 2, which was faster than Ligandfit, and went his own way with FaD....where I crunched also.....

Re: what's up old-timers?

he-he, PecosRiverM
I mostly remember grid.org for a great forum
- lots of talking, teams and udder nonsense
- and for being my comfort after breast surgery and radiation therapy
- and for saving what remains of my sanity
- and I'm sure it plays a role in me being alive today, if you like me think soma and psyche are intertwined.
Forever am I grateful that all these people work tirelessly to find cures.
