Welcome to another installment of the Crunching Chart series designed to graphically visualize the daily and 3 months rolling information of contributions made by volunteers at World Community Grid. This is the 18th project undertaken here through distributed computing.
----------------------------------------Currently 70% of the deceased from this infection are children. Research [visit the project information pages ] is conducted in quite a few places around the world; even a vaccine candidate is being studied, but we need a potent drug to kill the parasite that causes the illness and replace others less effective and to which the parasite is getting largely resistant. So, without further ado, let's crunch. Also visit the oroject statistics page for twice daily update of computed results. This is the official project webpage header, the central art used in the WCGPI1 Dashboard as project button is a beautiful depiction of the merging of computational biology. A robot translation of the Spanish language page to English you find in this link . ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 11, 2011 11:34:05 AM] |

Thank you for the chart, its always cool to see a visual representation of the work we have accomplished.
Is there any way you can make that chart start in say late august or so, that way there is not so much 'zero' space and the real data is not so compressed at the very end? It might make it a bit more readable. If not, thank you anyways for taking the time to do that. Aaron |

Thanks, but I would say it's a bit garish and nearly impossible to read.

The 18th installment, and here arrives ''Garish''
Definition of GARISH 1: clothed in vivid colors 2a : excessively or disturbingly vivid <garish colors> <garish imagery> b : offensively or distressingly bright : glaring 3: tastelessly showy : flashy — gar·ish·ly adverb — gar·ish·ness noun Origin of GARISH origin unknown First Known Use: 1545 Related to GARISH Synonyms: flamboyant, flaring, flashy, gaudy, glitzy, loud, Thanks Aaron, no can't [wont] change as all charts cover the 3 month period...automated. In time when production moves on the lines become less tangled. On next launch I'll simply wait 3 months to prevent any headaches ;>) --//-- |

First quarter million results validated. The curves are taking shape and at 57 CPU years yesterday, notwithstanding the glitch, a mighty fine uptake of this new science.

First spot in contribution share rankings for DSFL reached within a good week: See http://bit.ly/WCGQLK.
Tonight we might hit the half million results, but that'd be a squeeze. Crunching On! --//-- |

Nice job with the charts Sek!
Just one fly in the ointment: from the position 0730 o'clock going to the 0600 o'clock, the horizontal print is difficult to read. Is there an easy way to do textColor that adapts to the background? That should make the said print easy to read as the text flows on top of the colorTransition in the textBackground. (I'm using Firefox_v6.0.2, if that matters) As for the DSFL project, I'm happy to be a part of what is clearly shaping up to be the best WCG project launch yet, and even better project execution in the early goings! ; |

andzgrid,
Chart at top of thread or in the post above yours? Can read it perfect. If a project has no work for the day it does not print values in the central block and grays the project moniker. In this case DDDT2. For the far left column the intend was to only have the top date print in black (the one with the little green line underneath, but somewhere in the revisions that conditional format will have been lost... copy / paste / poof. Leaves the total in the Results Up/Down column, red being negative/change from previous day. Will see if something can be done on this, particular the total at bottom. --//-- |

SekeRob,
----------------------------------------The chart at the root post (the topmost post), the "WCG's Drug Search For Leishmaniasis - Performance Chart". In black-colored text, the line that I find not easy to read, displays: "hh"+"ttp://www.udea.edu.co/portal/page/portal/EnglishPortal/English Portal/F.Research/ScientificProductio" In that line, the text part "hh" + "ttp://www.udea.edu.co/", I find not easy to visually delieanate from the darkMaroon backgroundColor in that area. The said line is a link (I did an append operation to prevent HTML code from interpreting it as a link if viewed using a webBrowser). Considering that the data in a typical link does not change over time as frequently as the data about the projects, I guess that link is not too important to justify a visual retouch. The rest of the text, images, lines, and curves in the said chart -- are all OK. ; [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 11, 2011 8:17:09 AM] |
