In the BOINC client configuration document I referenced a few days ago there is an option to update every WU when it completes. Gretchch... yes the hut update... no work for DDDT2 wait 1 min hit update is not "supposed to be done much" if only a few people are doing it and not spamming on the update then it wont be noticed but if you get 100+ people doing it and keep doing it they are effectively doing the exact thing a Denial of Service attack dose... there is nothing technically WRONG about doing it but if you run more than 1 type of boinc project you will notice most only let you contact the server every few min.... here if i remember its set to 10 second... when BETA's come out the server dose get spammed a lot by people garbing for the WU's and thats why they normally set a limit on how many of a limited work unit set you can get IE 1 or 2 per CPU or such so if you want to hit update every now and then to see if you can grab a few more DDDT2 its not going to hurt things but please don't keep doing as the MAX allowed rater or such realize the server has to recover from lots of people trying to get few work units

I picked up 20, without even trying (much).. Just changed my cache to 1 day and they poured on in. I guess we're suppose to try rebooting our boxes once some of them are running. This is the scenario they want to test.

In the SN2S Beta they used the term "shut down" so I will power off/on.
----------------------------------------If you use checkpoint_debug you can tell when it checkpoints. To work correctly it should resume from the last checkpoint. not haveing any problems on the beta;s even with reboots and power-offs and intentional crashing of computer... no were near the next beta badge but if i dont run them when they are here i will never get there

Not having any problems either.
----------------------------------------Some of the checkpoints are infrequent. For example, there were 3 Betas with 33, 13, and 10 minutes of run time. After complete shut down they resumed with 33, 00, and 00 minutes respectively. So there were 23 minutes of run time lost due to the long periods between checkpoints. 2 of the Betas validated and 1 is PV so they are running okay.
