The CFSW WUs are getting even shorter.

Have you noticed that work units normally have a deadline that is 10 days from the received date/time?
----------------------------------------And some have a deadline that is 4 days? I believe that the latter are due to inconclusives, errors, etc... on other computers. * Inconclusive - The result was returned to the server and validation was attempted but the system could not determine which results it should consider to be the valid ones. New results were sent out for this work unit and validation will be attempted again when those results are returned. Based on my experiences with BOINC it is able to handle the 10 day deadlines just fine, providing you set your queue size to much less than 10 days. However, when new results from inconclusives are received they are mixed in with the others. BOINC does not seem to fully understand this as it runs tasks due days away instead of tasks due tomorrow or even today. BOINC can run tasks at high priority but instead of running them in order of due date it seems to choose tasks in no particular order. Even with a queue size of 1 day I have experienced this phenomenon. This may not seem like an issue but it is because as new work units are added they can be executed before the 4 day work units. I find it frustrating to watch BOINC run tasks at high priority while tasks with closer due dates are not run even at normal priority. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors ![]() |

The researcher for DDDT2 has indicated that he submitted work units for testing, and they should be available to crunch "soon". Not sure if this means by tomorrow... probably more likely next week, but it's good news for those of use that have been waiting for more.

Don't have a bronze in DDDT2 because the WUs were errored and would not validate.
----------------------------------------So I stopped running it thinking they would fix the problem soon. Asked a CA why don't they put out some BETAs for DDDT2 instead of error prone WUs. He said they would not stop a production run over a few errors. But they did! The problem wasn't going away. I did not know it would take this long to resolve. Starting last night and continuing through this morning uploads were failing due to maintenance.
