Re: "The survivors"

Glad to hear she's OK. If you could just let her know we were thinking about her, that would be great.

Re: "The survivors"

GPU is going to get this work completed in about one week.
If you don't have a HCC badge chances are you won't get it.

After returning 172 HCC-GPU results in less than 24 hrs, there is only 0.6 days run time credit. Obviously it would be impossible to get another badge in just a weeks time at this rate.

Although GPU processsing works well on the Abacus, i've suspended running HCC-GPU project. Mabey somebody can use the remaining wu's.

Moving on.... biggrin

Re: "The survivors"

nasher -- congratualtions on your sapphire badge for CEP2... they're a bit harder to get. Took me quite some time, since I limited the number of WU's that could be downloaded.

My point exactly, there is not enough work units to give sufficient run time to earn any badge.

Your 0.6 day run time would be the same no matter what project you run, what would vary is the number of results and credits earned.

For example:
On October 5th while running HCC CPU I returned 400 WUs, run time was 590.06 hours, and credits were 13,063.7.
October 19th running HCC GPU I returned 857 WUs, run time was 594.41, and credits were 23,678.5.

Of three GPU cards there is one capable of running HCC.
Running GPU requires one CPU to support the GPU and GPU run time is not measured so there is no additional run time generated.
My total number of CPUs, real and imaginary is 25 so the total run time per day is 600 hours max.

When the GPU runs all of the house lights dim.
Not really, but the PC power usage jumps from 200W to 350W.

Waiting for cooler weather; like when hell freezes over.
Last time I went there it was not that great unless you are talking about costs.
It is the world's most expensive parking lot and shopping center.
I went on space mountain and had a headache the rest of the day.
And if that wasn't enough the spinning tea cups finished me off.
Pirates of the Caribbean and the haunted house are more to my liking.
Did enjoy the gift shops, restaurants, and main street electrical parade.

Re: "The survivors"

I tend to agree. I have to admit that almost all of the things I like about Disney World are related to food or drink (which are really expensive). The last time I went (15+ years ago?), we had a package deal where everything was included -- hotel, food, drink (no alcohol), park admission, horseback riding, boat rentals, etc. It was expensive but would have been much more so if we'd had to pay separately for all the things we did. That was fun! But, as far as I know, these packages are no longer available.
