Re: Only 80 days left...

gb009761... thanks for the clarification... yep, it's just estimates: new projects... projects on hold... people changing to/from projects... I'll try to remember to mention that the next time I throw out "days left" estimate.

Keep on crunching...

Re: Only 80 days left...

I use Sek's charts for the for a nice general overview...

http://bit.ly/WCGPI1 nerd

Btw... you can never say what happens to a project if people move in or out of a project or new people joining... these estimates are meant to get you a bit of an idea of where the project stands... and that's it. I expect HCC to finish sometime around mid or end of december... and I expect people who have set priority to HCC to shift over to HFCC which might be a strong boost to this project. How strong this will turn out to be, we'll see when the time has come wink

But I guess, looking at the estimates, that since HFCC is ONLY lasting about +- 1 month longer than HCC, the boost may be quite limited... at most I expect the boost will cut the estimates by one week... if no new project (i.e.19) is started in the meantime which I don't know. smile

We'll see.

Greetings from LU.

(PS: I'm looking for a used SSI-MEB case to host a quad-cpu 16''x13'' board for WCG... if s.o. knows a quite cheap one for sale, let me know, PSU not needed... because of the heavy weight western EU shipment only... drop a mail. thx. Please note: I need MEB-form factor... not CEB or EEB)

Re: Only 80 days left...

Yep... Sek's chart is the one I use (I call it the WCG Dashboard), which is now showing 41 days for HCC and 77 days for HFCC

Everybody else: REMEMBER... this chart is only an estimate and can change depending on new projects... projects on hold... people changing to/from projects, etc

Keep on crunching....

Re: Only 80 days left...

Well, at least we now know that Target 7 is officially coming to an end (hence the slowdown - Reduced HFCC project priority).

I just hope it won't be too long until Target 8 is ready for us to crunch...

Re: Only 80 days left...

Does anyone have any idea what the last experiment number of Target 7 will be? - as, I'm assuming that it'll be shown in the WU name (i.e., in the format of 'HFCC_target-7_nnnnnnnn_target-7_0000_0', where 'nnnnnnnn' represents the experiment number).

That way, we'll have a rough idea as to how long we've got left before we're in a waiting until Target 8 arrives...

Nothing is needed to be alleged or anything else. All targets have used and will TTBOMK use the same library of slightly less than 3 million compounds, dockings for each compound split over 2 tasks. Including Target 8, last I looked we needed to do about 7.2 million more results, which includes the repair estim. When T8 commences I'll recalibrate the ''repair'' factor as incurred for T7.

Till then, just crunching on.

Re: Only 80 days left...

SekeRob, I know it's to the best of your knowledge (and mine), that there's just under 3 million compounds to be processed, although I was hoping for a more definitive answer - perhaps from the WCG techs.

Obviously, I'll be crunching on, right to the bitter end (that is, unless I reach Sapphire first), as, after all, that's why I've only done a token couple of WU's for GFAM and cut back on CEP2 since the announcement that there's a potential gap between target 7 finishing and target 8 starting.

Re: Only 80 days left...

it is always hard to figure out exact answers... with 2 new projects out there and the fact that hcc1 and hfcc are both under 180 days probably.

also who knows what will happen with c4cw and hcmd2 is speeding back up.. also dddt2 might have another wave soon...

so with all the changes in projects out there on wcg it is really hard to get an estimate on how long it will take.

myself i am currently badge hunting but i might do a push to help knock out hcc and hfcc once i get to my minimum desired badges for projects and finish my goals for current badge hunting.

gb009761 if you concentrate on your hfcc hopefully you should be able to pull off the sapphire... no clue how close or how many cores you can pull together.

i will hold off on working hfcc to help you get your badge but im only 5 cores so hopefully the other projects will draw people off until you get your badge.

also remember after the 30 day warning they give there are always re-sends and repair work units

Re: Only 80 days left...

Hi nasher, don't worry - if I don't manage to get my HFCC Sapphire badge with Target 7, I'll certainly get it with Target 8, as I'm less than 100 days away (with 4 cores available).

If I have to wait until Target 8 comes available, then I'll have to be patient (after all, there's my Bronze GFAM to get, then both that and DSfL to bump up to Gold etc.), so there's no shortage of badge hunting work for my little old laptop...

Re: Any idea when HFCC will end ?

A couple of things...
1) I'm returning the post topic back to "Any idea when HFCC will end ?", because the "Only 80 days left..." topic isn't true anymore, because ...
2) The Seke dashboard is showing 120 days for HFCC.

So... HFCC crunchers, it seems we still have plenty of work to do....

Gotta crunch.... Gotta crunch.... Gotta crunch....
