CEP2 temporary slowdown [RESOLVED]

We have received a request from the researchers to slow down the project temporarily. They had a failed drive on their storage system. Short story, this drive is redundant so no data was lost. To help speed up the rebuilding of the redundant drive they have asked us to slow down the results. We will resume normal speed when this is complete.

Thank you for your patience,
-Uplinger

Re: CEP2 temporary slowdown

The researchers were able to rebuild the redundant drive and things are now back to 100% speed for this project.

Thank you for your patience,

Re: CEP2 temporary slowdown [RESOLVED]

Uplinger,

Good, as was already flip flopping to exclusive and starting to get the infamous ''There was work but it was assigned to other platforms''.

As the owner of this thread, a [RESOLVED] insert into the thread title ... u know the drill ;>)

Re: CEP2 temporary slowdown [RESOLVED]

We had our first serious hardware issue early Sunday morning: One of our harddrives on Ms Piggy (our server array which receives all the grid traffic) died and had to be hot-swapped. Thanks to RAIDing, no data was lost. During the RAID rebuild our friends at IBM reduced the load to the server and it finished in the early hours on Monday morning.
A huge ‘Thank you’ to the FAS-RC and IBM teams for watching out for us and providing an awesome support!

Re: CEP2 temporary slowdown [RESOLVED]

A fool-proof way to prevent hard drive failure: Put something you don't ever want your significant other/boss/the public/the IRS/etc. to learn about on it.

Note that will also increase the potential for a data breach.
