Re: cool Team Crunching@EVGA... A harware enthusiast community taking Crunching on, one unit at a time...

I'm pretty sure that the water would singe ones skin (official temp is 62 degrees C) plus the national park service would get very cross with any would be bathers. At one time there were about 15 bath houses that offered spa experiences (this would have been the late 1800s and early 1900s) and there are still one or two that operate to this day.

Re: cool Team WCG@EVGA... A harware enthusiast community taking Crunching on, one unit at a time...

Great to have two fine states to choose from!
A pleasure you share with GeraldRube who calls both Virginia and Texas his home.

How come muskie32?
To me Wisconsin is milk and cheese, Danish dairymen, Frank Lloyd Wright
- and a bakery in Racine.
What is it to you?

- and kody7839, you state Tinley Park
I Google Mapped it. It looks like a suburban area - is it big?
I ask, because the day before yesterday we established that tank1023 is from Colorado Springs
- a city from where several crunchers happen come.
Tinley Park is the home of another cruncher: wplachy
- so relatively speaking, Colorado Springs may meet some competion
as to being Crunching Capitol of the World
rose

Now thats what I'm talking about.. Folding Capital of the WORLD!

You guys have been more responsive to my geographic begging in five days
than all of WCG's crunchers have been in several months in my "Where are you from?" thread.
Thank you rose
BTW I happened to notice that one of you is Canadian.
I look forward to seeing locations in your "index cards" for those who have not updated them yet
and in your left sidebars generated from that "index cards" info ...
Happy American Thanksgiving to our newest team!
- the Canadian jumped the gun smile

I'm like you, I want to know peoples stories, where there from and why they crunch.

OK, here you go:
- my story is just too long, and I don't know how to cut it short cool
- as you can see I'm from Denmark, one of the three Scandinavian countries,
and one of the five Nordic countries
- I regard Rhode Island as my second home, because I lived there for six years
- I started crunching in 2003 because I found the predecessor (UD Grid) - if I might say so - of WCG
while doing breast cancer research and was fascinated by the friendly atmosphere in the Forums
- I hibernated for several years, and when I returned to the Base Camp I started in 2005 most of
the old Base Campers were still there and new had joined, plus I met many old friends here
- and make new ones as well
- and I'm the verbose kind smile

Yes, tank. And Hans Christian Andersen, Denmark's fairy tale writer.
Many years ago my handle was "the ugly duckling" - one of his characters,
but when I wanted to return to Base Camp after several years of hibernation
I had forgotten my password and changed my name into
"little mermaid" which is another of his fairy tale characters
and also Denmark's famous symbol.
I have been lucky calling myself this name, because it seems to make
my fellow-crunchers and -posters very protective

Her sculpture sits at the entry to the port of Copenhagen, our capital in Denmark:

In spite of not being in your team
- and since none from your team is here:
Hello tank1023
- morning in my parts was loooong ago
- may I introduce you to Crunchie, our Base Camp mascot smile
