Re: cool Team Crunching@EVGA... A harware enthusiast community taking Crunching on, one unit at a time...

Yes, you guys rock!
Look at all the badges spouting left of your posts!
Like mushrooms in the fall in a juicy meadow.
Took me forever to get a few - I think they are called bronze.

I hope you don't mind tanner2 "made his own choice in life" Afterburners
- Base Camp do Treks to other teams for reasons not always clear to all
- but this Trek's purpose is clear enough
- we like the concept that LTDAkiles wrote for his team in his team thread
- and we hoped our trek could get him a few new permanent members.
Three has come so far, one of them has a hard time getting the job done, so to speak.
Normally, Base Campers return to the home teams of their choice when treks are over
- and I have the best of hope for tanner2 seeing Crunching@EVGA as his home
- so far he just seems to have a jolly good time in Finland with sauna, icy lakes, vodka and music
- and a geography, topography and climate as in his homestate of Minnesota
- we have pictures:
The Sauna Song
- but some are just eternal restless souls
- personally I dwell with a Japanese in Paris until my next Trek.

Urlauber, are you German or do you have German ancestors?
confused
I know some German, and your name here makes me think
forever being on vacation/holiday/furlough.

Ha ha, yes "Urlauber" is German, and he is often on holiday, which is the reason both for the name and why he has not answered your question.

Re: cool Team Crunching@EVGA... A harware enthusiast community taking Crunching on, one unit at a time...

Punchy, this is not double Dutch but German,
- I think - and I'm doing night school to brush it up raised eyebrow
and it is supposed to say:

I can speak some German. I have seen Urlauber here today,
so if he is vacationing, he probably brings his laptop along.
May I ask you (or could we say "you" to each other* )
if it is possible for you to state your country and maybe also your
federal state and your city on your "Index Card" (My Forum Profile), please?

* Germans are as far as I know somewhat more formal than Danes.
Both in German and Danish we have a polite form of "you" that can be used
with people you do not know that well. In Denmark we did away with that some 30 years ago,
but to be on the safe side, I chose to use it here.
Are you from all over the world in your team, Punchy
- and BTW, Punchy, I cannot read where you're from sad

Hallo kleine Meerjungfrau

Hello little mermaid,

yes I´m german and am currently doing my name justice biggrin
and I´ve got my laptop with me.
As it is custom in german forums, you can use the informal "du".
I´ve also added my hometown to my forum profile, though its not quite accurate (living a tad outside).

Mr B (in reference to my name on our home forum) cool

Urlaubst du in Amerika?

Punchy, if you state your state,
I'll translate devilish
-as if Google Translate wasn't invented d oh
oh, and it gives you many funny suggestions alien 1

Hi Afterburners,

Just dropping by to ask a very simple question - was it intentional in your Opening Post to have the title of "Team Crunching@EVGA... A harware enthusiast community taking Crunching on, one unit at a time..." (i.e., "harware", instead of what I'm guessing may be "hardware").

If it was a simple typo, then there's only a limited amount of time before it'll be too late (without WCG tech help) for you to correct this.

Sorry for butting in like this - it's just that I'm a bit of a perfectionist who likes to proof-read Xerox copies... Sad, but true...

Funny, gb009761, so am I.
Sometimes these glitches are made intentionally by marketing people to get our attention.

I am in a Facebook group created by a Norwegian when the murders
in Oslo and Utöya happened July 22, 2011. It's called "Tenn et lys ... light a cande"
which should be "candle". For a while I campaigned hard for a correction.
It could not be done. And do you know what?
The founding Norwegian woman is a selfdeclared dyslexic - and now I love it.
This newfound tolerance I applied to the missing d here. rose
I'll like it both ways, tho tongue

Hahahaha... Yep... I goofed... I fixed it in the first post but I cannot in the rest.

That is what happens when you start a team from scratch and have a lot to type and help folks with it. Little things here and there get overlooked. Thanks for bringing it to "My" attention. biggrin
