It ain't about saving bad humans, it is about saving good humans. As your link suggests, good humans have enough to worry about in the problems created by bad humans without the addition of disease/bad water/energy scarcity/etc. If we don't save the good humans, the bad humans - working hand in hand with the problems WCG and BOINC work to eliminate - will overwhelm the good humans...and the human race will go kaput.

Is enough good humans to make giving them the opportunity to displace the bad humans worthwhile...i.e., much as you water and fertilize the vegetables but not the weeds.
