What's cooking there in Cambridge... don't know. For sure, now just before shuteye, and my clients going into off-line crunch mode, seeing 4% after 4 minutes for the _4 result file, with a mean speed of 7Kb, not going to make it before the network switch is flipped. If not and tomorrow it's still snail pace, and it starts to impair other uploading, then choices will be made.

Hello cleanenergy, Indeed... We are getting multiple threads on this issue. See https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,33205 Some sort of network congestion is causing timeouts on some CEP2 uploads to Harvard. People are noticing this. It eventually finishes, but the condition can last a good part of a day. You need to have your network people investigate this issue, so you can post that this problem is being investigated. People are patient about problems they know are being worked on. Lawrence The CEP2 WU on my home PC that started upload around 4am this morning seemed to finally have finished around 5pm, so half a day to finally upload... Haven't checked how long the SM box took to upload, but my iMac here at home seemed to have been able to upload his last finished WU during the day just fine... Well, the server in SM has the same issues right now, when I just checked remotely, the upload was stuck at 76%, with retry in 18 minutes... Oh dear... So, while the team had a very busy today, an rsync script caused some trouble on our servers... That script (which wasn't supposed to run there in the first place) malfunctioned, ate up all the memory, and nearly brought the machines to its knees. Due to excessive swapping the user uploads were impacted which we only noticed with quite a delay. We are extremely sorry about the problem and the tardy resolution. Things should be back to normal now. Please let us know if problems persist.
Best wishes Your Harvard CEP team |

The stuck upload on the SM server finally finished, it will take a few hours until the next one is due and I will keep an eye on it...

Things should be back to normal now. Indeed so. My latest large CEP2 upload whizzed along at my maximum ADSL upload speed and without error. |

Yesterday CEP2 posted a reason for the slow uploads on their Facebook page
