Yes I had over 150 errors wu today only, but whith minimal time lost! From different PC so it is not a problem coming from your machine but from the WU themself. Rej I installed Windows 8, with BOINC version 7.0.28 and it was working fine for a while. Then the computation errors started on cfsw and hcc. I read that I should be using 7.0.31 with windows 8, but it's an early alpha and not recommended. It's also only available for 32-bit platforms. Mine is Windows 8, 64-bit. So I installed it anyway, started it up and found out that I was out of allocated tasks in cfsw and hcc. So I added hfcc, it downloaded what it needed and now it's working. I'm not really sure if the problem is fixed but at least I'm computing, again! If it weren't for computers doing strange things, I wouldn't have a job so I suppose I should just be happy that it happens to me sometimes! EDIT: I was so sure it was typed correctly that I didn't proof read it. LOL-Wrong!

Rej Yes, saw reports of this in one of the CFSW threads. Something about an output file missing. Struck me as a problem that happened prepping/loading a batch of WU. I should hit ruby on CFSW tomorrow. By my estimates, I'd have to go thru over 4000 more WUs to make emerald. I don't think that they have much more than that left for CFSW altogether. Once I hit ruby, I'll abort what I have left and go back to S2NS where I need just another two months runtime to make emerald. That will leave getting DSFL, GFAM and S2NS up to sapphire. BTW, the downside of these errors on CFSW, even though they error out at the start, is that your machine is probably marked unreliable and your CFSW WUs will go into Pending Verification for a while. |

I saw two of my crunchers had run out of work, so I investigated. These two do not have an additional work buffer (cache) and they are getting the most recent WUs for CFSW. In checking the results status, the earliest one getting the error on my laptop is cfsw_14350_14350547. The latest one getting the error is cfsw_14468_14468311. In looking at the URL for one of the WUs in error I see it is - https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/devi...s.do?workunitId=515692700 I do not see anything that identifies the project (CFSW) in the URL. I tried randomizing the 8 digits of workunitId but did not get any results. I was looking at this to see if there might be some sort of boundary condition that might be the cause of the problem. As you can tell, I do not know enough about the internals to be of any help. |

Kevin has posted in Known Issues about the problem with the CFSW WUs. They have disabled the project for now while they work on it. That's probably why folks with CFSW only are seeing their crunchers run out of work. There's also a thread in the CFSW forum on the problem.

I've got a late change of plans happening and need a favor of someone. The family and I are going to take a short mountain getaway this coming weekend so I need someone to grab a copy of the team data for Friday and Saturday. We'll be back late Sunday and I can get Sunday's then. I can provide the URL I use that gives you all the team data on one screen. You just copy that and paste it into a file in Notepad and email me the file. Should only take a minute or two. Sorry for the late notice!

looks like i'll have to abandon c4sw for awhile. Shifting to schistosoma, hopefully they will have the c4sw problems fixed soon.
