Ran across this today-- Tax his land, tax his bed,

Tax his car, tax his gas, Find other ways to tax his a**. Tax all he has, then let him know That you won’t be done till he has no dough. When he screams and hollers, Tax him some more. Tax him ’till he’s good and sore. Then tax his coffin, tax his grave. Tax the sod in which he’s laid. Put these words upon his tomb, “Taxes drove me to my doom.” When he’s gone, do not relax. It’s time to apply the inheritance tax.  |

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Reminds me of my early "beancounter" days 35, almost 40 years ago. Even back then, we had a very accurate solution to simplifying the tax code. It all came down to a two line tax return:

 Good Morning MOT Congratulations xroule, parmesian, dkt, Jonathon Wright and Judson Somerville!!!!! Sorry about your week not starting well Dr. Mike. But hey it can get lots better that way. On the tax thing. Everyone talks about "fairness", in taxation. My interpretation of fairness might be different than others. Flat seems more fair than what we have now or a national sales tax instead of income tax sounds more fair. But you have to think of all the tax accountants and lawyers etc. that it would put out of their meaningless work. Then they might have to find something to do that might really contribute to society. I know. Picky picky picky. Everyone have a great day and do a good deed if you get a chance. |
