So, I know, WCG/DDDT2 is different, but... where is "project status"?
How many "tasks ready to send"? How many "tasks in progress"? etc., etc. |

Hello [GPU Force] Robert 7NBI,
![]() So, I know, WCG/DDDT2 is different, but... where is "project status"? The only question there with a ready answer is the Project Status page. But it will leave you wondering just what the status is. How many "tasks ready to send"? How many "tasks in progress"? etc., etc. ![]() For a start, select RESEARCH and then 'Learn More' under Discovering Dengue Drugs Together - Phase 2. This will take you to the DDDT2 Overview page at https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/dddt2/overview.do Read down to the very last paragraph: Notice of workunit availability This explains why we do not have the numerical information you want. We find out how many work units to run by running them and seeing how many work units that creates. When no more are created, we are through with that protease-ligand. Then we do the next. The nature of the Phase 2 free energy calculations and research requires each protease-ligand system to execute three sequential programs, with manual analysis and intervention required between each program. Moreover, each program has very different processing characteristics and computing environment requirements. As the project switches between programs, Phase 2 workunits may be temporarily unavailable and the project will appear to run intermittently. This is in contrast to most World Community Grid projects, where workunits are continuously available until a project ends. It is suggested that World Community Grid members allow other Grid projects to run whenever Phase 2 workunits are not available. Then go back to the top of the overview page and select the DDDT website at http://www.utmb.edu/discoveringdenguedrugs-together/ . There are a number of headings you can select there, including Project Status. That has lots of information. Unfortunately, it will still leave you wondering about the status. A lot of research is like that. Probing into the unknown does not give you many meaningful mile markers. Lawrence |

Thanks for the helpful answer. This was spectacular. I'm very impressed. the point that you completely missed is that most of us are willing to answer a question if you show just a modicum of effort to teach yourself, the CA's are far more generous of their time and knowledge. This is a support service not a babysitting service and days and days of work has been put in to a very extensive set of FAQs |

Any news regarding this? If you're not going to monitor the thread (New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!... - click the 'Watch' button in the upper-right corner of any of its 40+ pages) that was linked in the first reply, you could subscribe to one of the RSS feeds (there's XML, RSS 2.0 and ATOM) for the DDD-T 2 Forum, then you could at least skim the subjects daily and choose which ones to peruse, in your favorite RSS aggregator. |

I'm now counting 228,585 validations for the 22nd June though July 5, noon per daily details below. That's a few thousand more than were promised for this dg05 C-Type c+d group, but we've come to expect a little higher "need repair" rate.
----------------------------------------0,320 < test batch 0,324 0,134 0,940 1,185 4,723 <- 22nd Main body release of 111K * quorum 2 14,346 20,988 28,474 30,673< 26th final original send out. 17,916 37,509 19,378 14,469 14,320 9,183 7,171 4,764 1,768 <- 5th - noon Practically, whatever comes in after tomorrow can only be repair and no reply work. --//-- edit: As noted before, we needed 5 days to send out all for this rain. We peaked like previous dg05 a-b group at 31K validations for a crunching day. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 5, 2012 4:12:21 PM] |

So, from the beginning...
1. WCG is only one of many projects on boinc platform. 2. EACH of boinc projects provides the basic information called "project / server status", e.g. 3 major: a) DistrRTgen http://boinc.freerainbowtables.com/distrrtgen/server_status.php b) PrimeGrid http://primegrid.com/server_status.php http://primegrid.com/server_status_subprojects.php http://primegrid.com/ c) Seti http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html d) GPUGrid http://www.gpugrid.net/server_status.php 3. If WCG is a part of boinc society, then he should provide at least the basic information called as "project status". 4. I was looking for this information here in many places. Even in the FAQ. ;) I found a thousand propaganda words, but nothing as "project status". 5. If WCG/IBM does not want or can not provide such basic information, then is a sufficent reason to drastic reduction in participation in this project. This is only my opinion ofc and many people will always love IBM, no matter how they disrespected. @SekeRob: you have the best statistic - appreciation! ...but you do not know how much is still to do NOW. |
