Today I've had 2 CEP2 WUs terminate with "computation error" a few seconds into the task. They came from 2 different computers. I think they are defective WUs.
Names: a). E209750_953_C.30.C27H18N2Si.02158055.3.set1d06 b). E209763_518_C.30.C29H19N.01248412.4.set1d06 In both cases, the "interesting" lines of my result logs are: <core_client_version>6.2.19</core_client_version> ... - exit code 195 (0xc3) ... [09:48:54] Starting job 0,CPU time has been restored to 0.000000. Application exited with RC = 0xc0000005 [09:50:06] Finished Job #0 09:50:06 (2812): called boinc_finish --- (Times are shown for (a); times for (b) are similar) For WU (a), both wingmen tasks are still In Progress. For WU (b), 2 other wingmen got Error status, 2 more are In Progress. The 2 wingmen's Error result logs are shorter than mine, interesting lines are: <core_client_version>6.10.17</core_client_version> <message> too many exit(0)s </message> |

I have received a couple of CEP2 repair jobs for which the original cruncher had the immediate "too many exits" error. I started the first one running, and it's been going for a minute (didn't fail at 0 seconds).

Update: The errors are looking like they happened at my end - apologies if so.
One of the wingmen on WU (a) has completed the task OK and its status is PV. The 2 wingmen for WU (b) who did not get errors have returned valid results. It seems to me strange coincidences that I got errors on the same day from 2 machines that do not normally get them, that the error codes were the same, and that in one case 2 other wingmen also returned errors. |
