Re: Quota ?

As it was explained in places, the quota is automatically incremented [long as there are no errors]. The maximum at any one time of GPU tasks buffered is 60. knreed just posted that the redesign of the indexing system lets things run now at 10x the speed, so quota are possible going to be revised once he's got some consistent performance data.

Any ideas on how long 4 errors out of 1000+ will set the quota back?
Somehow my quota is now 160ish for an entire day.

The report from WCG is that they had some problems and they are being worked thru and should be gone shortly. They manually restricted people due to some people getting hundreds of units beyond what their cache settings were set to get and there was no way they could finish them all in time. They reportedly set it so you will get no units until you are down to around 24 hours of work left, then you will get enough to last you a little bit, then you will get more. No one, who's cache settings are setup that way, should get several days of work, but also should not get less than 24 hours worth of work. They ARE working on it.

UPDATE: They fixed it and it should be returning to normal as we read this!!! Read this thread for more:

The day limit is "soft". Keep returning valid work for a device and the device will get more backfilled. 25 per core... no hope in heck any of my devices can do that, but GPU's can, that is if they can do them faster than 5.76 minutes a pop.

The 10 results per request limit is likely to prevent one device getting a bunch and the next device finding empty slots and the feeder backfill could then not keep up. It's a scheduler load trade off. Devices walking into "no work available for" would connect again shortly try again... not good. Better to give something with a deferral counter instruction to not try for additional backfill until after xxx seconds/minutes.

The problem is that it's painfully slow getting work to "keep returning valid work". With a device that can to 180 per hour, a quota of 150 (what I was seeing) or 250 (claimed quota) is too low. It takes hours to get enough WUs to build the quota back up.
