A year agoi i was on 1400 credits per day.
Now daily credit falling down to 50% (only cca 700 points per day) on same machine and same computing time. No changes in HW. How is this even possible??? It's really demotivating!!!! I'm seriously considering to go away and start data crunching somewhere else. |

Can you tell us a little about the machine you are crunching on?
----------------------------------------What projects inside WCG are you crunching? Have you upgraded BOINC? Maybe double check your device profile to make sure nothing changed during one of the many server updates? [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 16, 2013 11:03:05 AM] |

Thanks for fast reply.
Five of six cores of my AMD FX 6100 CPU and 8GB RAM are used by BOINC client ver. 6.10.58 (Win 7 64bit). Is there any need to upgrade BOINC Manager? I crunch usually: Help Conquer Cancer, Say No to Schisostoma, GP Fight Against Malaria, Drug Search for Leichmanianiasis,... I have achived sig gold badges, two silver and one bronze. |

Hello Phaeton9,
Please check My Grid - Member Statistics History to verify your points. Remember that 1 BOINC credit = 7 WCG points and My Grid shows WCG points. Your current points are very low and I want to verify that there is no confusion. Lawrence |

huh... besides the possible technical reasons for the observed change in points... would you mind answering the following:
----------------------------------------- You are really only crunching for the points? - The humanitarian aspect of helping find cures for terrible diseases that affect our world doesn't fit in the picture? - Why the in-your-face statement about picking up you marbles and going some place else? I can understand that you have observed a problem (we all have at one point in time) and would like an answer, but it's not cool doing it with a threat. CJSL Crunching for a better tomorrow... |

I have one incurable neuro-muscular disease and just because this is not only problem of mine, i started to in here participate three years ago. i believe that when i can, i should help others, so i didn't care for for credits long time until i watched my credit graph today and observed, that with same amount of computing time and precisely same hw current points are too low.
i just wondrered if some work did not lost somewhere. |

Hi and welcome to the WCG forums,
----------------------------------------A "getting half of before" or similar threads always causes a inner hmmm. Let's try to reconstruct, given that from March of last year the WCG credit actually went up by over 20%. Please hit the My Grid link at top of screen and copy the project statistics in a reply. From this we can compute the hourly credit, where we suppose you started by contributing to HCMD2. For sure a 5 of 6 cores AMD would fetch lots more if it were working full out, but is it? When we look at BOINCstats, these were your top 10 days, which were after the March credit system/server upgrade, so we can eliminate that factor from the equation: 2012-06-12 2,499 2012-06-16 2,499 2012-06-05 2,382 2012-06-18 2,366 2012-06-28 2,251 2012-09-04 2,162 2012-06-13 2,074 2012-09-10 1,968 2012-06-21 1,930 2012-06-15 1,921 When we look at your last 40 days production, you were doing 1100-1400 some 5 weeks ago, so things are going down http://boincstats.com/en/stats/15/user/detail/690086/lastDays As for the info request at start, also visit My Grid > Result Status, hit the Return Time header so the newest results sit at top and copy the first 15 also into a reply. This will allow us to further investigate hourly credit, which then we can extrapolate to 5 cores 24/7 computing, if that is what the device was and is doing. TTYL edit: insert missed link. i just wondrered if some work did not lost somewhere and we're attempting to help you find out what's happening Phaeton9. Unfortunately though, we can only do that with your help. So, if you could look (and preferably post the results here, so we're all working off the same picture) at your results history (via this link), that should provide you with a clue as to what your results validated history is since you started here. From that, it may just give a clue as to whether this issue is one of a slow drop-off of results, or a relatively sharp decline (which would indicate that something, somewhere changed). ![]() |

Just wondering if, since it's the same build and hardware, now you are throttling due to heat buildup (a year's worth of dust, less airflow, etc.)?

I had a similar problem once before, and it was due to a change in the power management settings that I hadn't noticed. In that case the results were taking longer, but it's still worth checking.
