Door to Door legwork for WCG - what & where have you gone or done?

So, I figured I would start a thread for people to talk about how they are promoting WCG and getting the word out. I have actually sent emails to various organizations recently asking them about their involvement with DC'ing and then plugged WCG in the event they had no idea what I was asking including WCG's website.

Here is a website with a nice list of Cancer organizations. http://www.neho.org/cancer_societies.html

I figured if a lot of people bring the topic up at these organizations, maybe they will at least try running WCG. Worst case scenario they just disregard the inquiry.

Already got a response from one of them. It isn't much, but at least someone will look at it.

Thank you for reaching out to the American Cancer Society. We appreciate your interest in sharing information regarding this software program.

I have forwarded your feedback to the Corporate Center so they can see the information you have shared regarding the product.

If the business is interest in being considering as supplier with the Society they can visit the following page on our website to fill out the Supplier Registration Form:

http://www.cancer.org/AboutUs/HowWeHelpYou/ContactUs/Index

You then click the "Become A Supplier" link in the National Home Office section. This form includes IT proposals. Please complete the registration form and submit it. Filling out this form is not a commitment to opportunity or contract, only a request to be considered.

The American Cancer Society sources and purchases goods and services throughout the United States and will reference registered suppliers if and when opportunities arise. As part of our commitment to diversity, the American Cancer Society believes in maintaining an equitable and competitive business environment. ACS will proactively identify qualified businesses to be included in the pool of bid candidates when sourcing goods and services. We strongly encourage applicants to indicate any diversity classifications.

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you again for sharing this information with your American Cancer Society.

Thanks Coleslaw for your efforts to promote World Community Grid to relevant organizations. We do have a Partner Program which acknowledges organizational volunteers, those are listed at: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/about_us/viewOurPartners.do. We invite any organization to join the program by completing this form: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/about_us/viewBecomePartner.do.

I once wrote to a computer magazine in Portugal and they said they would publish an article about WCG and that they even contacted IBM but I never really bought the magazine so I have no idea if they published it or not. I also wrote to several national associations for Cancer and AIDS but didn't get any responses.
