I'm a Computer Science student at the University of Oregon and found out about the World Community Grid through a book we use in class (Java: How to Program Ninth Edition)
----------------------------------------Since I leave my home computer on all the time, I thought I might as well put it to work for a good cause. I looked for a team, specifically a University of Oregon team, and there exists one with the name University of Oregon. There are supposedly 8 members on the team, but nobody on the team has been online since May of 2012. I tried to email the team leader, but the team leader did not opt into receiving emails from team members. So basically, I'm the only member of this team. I wanted to know how I could take over as leader of this team. The team is just a couple points shy of one million. I don't really want to make a new team since I would like to revive The University of Oregon team and promote it at the University. Do you even really need a team leader? Should I just promote the team anyway and just let it go on without a team leader? [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 9, 2013 8:01:24 AM] |

thanks! By the way, how did you find that thread? I tried using the forum search to find a result, but always came up with a list of unrelated results. Is there a trick to finding something specific? If I search "Team Leader" and put it in quotes, I still get results of either just Team or Leader but not both. So I'm not doing it right.

Hello glennhanna,
team AND leader. Use AND OR NOT. This really exasperated me in the early 1980's when I switched from Unix to PC-DOS. Searches are important and should allow regular expressions, etc. But the world pays no heed to my opinions. Poor world ![]() Lawrence |
