Re: Running CEP2 in a virtual machine.

First things first, post the message log from start to -after- where work is not sent because... (Client 7.0.65 is pretty good and gives about 14 common reasons why it is).

edit: In overkill, past messages [aka event logging] are stored in the various stdxxxyyy.txt files, most common the stdoutdae.txt file [often large] which captures the daemon output. stderrdae.txt file [often small] catches the daemon errors itself.

How to help if you don't post the messages requested "First things first, post the message log from start to -after- where work is not sent because"

Re: Running CEP2 in a virtual machine.

Well, now you got 1 work-unit, which project exactly? That 1033.02 is really borderline CEP2, but did not see a memory warning in the log you posted before. There's though also a web-pref

max memory usage when active: 573.90MB

And that is not enough for CEP2 when system is in use. Not sure when a client asks for work when system is in use, if the 573.90 is signaled to servers or the idle value of 1033.02. Ingleside might know, and possible both is, or largest of 2... work or idle.

The GFAM will just be the fixed files, not a task... the answer to the question above will confirm what it was.

stderrdae.txt empty is always good.

Re: Running CEP2 in a virtual machine.

Hey Rob,

I just noticed that Dango has a maximum upload rate and maximum download rate set at 25600 bytes/second.

Last I heard, "The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 requires 63.48 KB/sec download bandwidth." if a person has 1 CEP2 task at a time selected.

Could the maximum upload/download rate that Dango has set be preventing him from getting CEP2 tasks?

Just a thought.

Re: Running CEP2 in a virtual machine.

That's right, missed that. Only when setting prefs to 2 or higher will that BW restriction, or actual measured BOINC DL speed [UL is not considered] be overridden.

Thanks for spotting that.

edit: Goes to show how important it is to give helpers a good chunk of message log to chew on, and that "4 eyes seeing more than 2" is once more confirmed.
