Did tuseef ever resolve his Win8 problems?

I've not been in work, this week (a much-needed relaxing week off), so haven't had chance to ask him...

Given he's not submitted any GPUGrid work-units, I'm going to assume not yet! sad

On that note, too, it looks like Ian_UK has taken a break from, or just stopped, doing GPUGrid, too...

Afternoon Team smile

I am soo close now to 11 years on FA@H (if I include Pending, I've already got it), that I have opened my systems up to CEP as well, not to reach any particular goal, just to help it finish a little quicker, so we can get CEP Phase 3 going perhaps a little sooner smile

Edit: Ohh, I've just noticed my globe sig has moved to 2.99 years per project average cool

I've tried Win 8 and I hated it, Win 7 for me smile

RE: Tablets... I've mulled it over and since my wife needs something now (ish), and 2 weeks+ wait for a Hudl is far too long, I've look at the others on the market, plus taken in to consideration everything that has been said on the other thread I started and my conclusions are such:

I've ordered a 2nd hand I5 Laptop biggrin

Tablets sound alright, but I feel that they are (at the moment), too under-powered to be of any significant use to me (crunching wise), they have duo/quad cores but will error out the moment you want to push them and for the moment atleast, they are for FA@H only.

I'm looking for something my wife can use downstairs to do the work she needs to do, while at the same time, giving me the ability to hit a really important target (should there be one in the future), which means I need something that won't be limited to just 1 project.

Price wise: Well the Laptop is only £20 more than the nexus (inc P&P), but for the extra ability it gives me, it's worth it.

We both require a good all-rounder and for the time being, Tablets just aren't up to the job.
