Currently, gnome3 on F19 is bit problematic. If you use with BOINC manager GUI up, gnome-shell consumes excessive amount of CPU. There is several bug report for CPU utilization of gmome3 though, I can not be sure if one of them is addressiung this issue or not.

So, I do not know if gnome3 on prior to F18 acts the same way. If any of you have any advice, I will appliciate. 'Cause I do not have enough time to pursue this issue by Japanese seasonal reason now, I am bringing up BOINC manager just when I need. Does any body has good solution for this issue? P.S. I already have installed latest update for fedora 19 with 'yum -y update' today. Graphic is NVIDIA 7500GS. |

Fedora is not one distro falling in the "for beginners" category and no idea what latest stable repo they have for BOINC.
Using a compile by maintainers for this distro really requires contacting the maintainers [Berkeley tests Ubuntu, and Android only, and see occasional notes of FreeBSD fixes being integrated, from a maintainer too]. And yes, the BM can go wild on CPU and memory use.., unload it when you can, or run BOINCTUI if that runs on Fedora [BOINC Text only User Interface for console]. Not anything we have expertise on. |
