Do you think the US government hasn't monitored you?

Hi All,

Do you think the US government hasn't monitored your:

Facebook account,
Blogs,
Texts,
E-mails,
Tweets,
Forum posts,
Online calendar,
or even your online notes (which aren’t even communicated to anyone)?

Think again.

"Top 374 keywords the U.S. government monitors": http://www.zdnet.com/blog/btl/top-374-keyword...government-monitors/78417

Scroll down to you see the phrase "2.13 Key Words & Search Terms". Even though it doesn't look like it, it is clickable. Click on it.

That will take you to a PDF file: http://www.scribd.com/doc/82701103/Analyst-Desktop-Binder-REDACTED

Starting on page 20: 2.13 Key Words & Search Terms

There are numerous innocent words/phrases that are keywords for monitoring. If you’ve ever talked about your health, your travel experiences, or even the weather, odds are they have been looked at. Seriously, the weather?

These are just the TOP 374 keywords and phrases. It makes me wonder what the rest of the list contains.

Re: Do you think the US government hasn't monitored you?

I am sure these US gov't guys are not alone in monitoring all communications. I would guess all governments, banks, ISPs, telcoms, advertisers, Google, Microsoft, Apple, GM, Ford, VW.........etc are all doing the same stuff.

Re: Do you think the US government hasn't monitored you?

I do not care if the government wants to monitor any or all of my online stuff because:
A: I do not have a facebook account
B: As far as I know, I have virtually nothing to hide
C: I am not paranoid
D: I am not a conspiracy theorist
E: I have very little worth stealing except for stuff that is old and almost worn out
F: I live a pretty boring existence

For those of you much more concerned about your privacy than I am, I do understand your concern and the constitutional issues involved. However, I think catching those who would wreak havoc on society by destroying institutions and killing people is a noble cause. Besides, I have never had a visit by the NSA, the CIA, the KGB, Mossad or any other spy agency, at least that I am aware of. If they did stop by I would invite them in for a beer.
Cheers

I too have nothing to hide, but......

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me--
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

@anthonyagresta_dot_com -- Ah, how can I say this ..... while I do not disagree with your intent, perhaps you should provide attribution for your mangled quote of Martin Niemoeller's famous poem. I am astonished no one else has called you out on this. If you do not remember what the original sequence of minorities was, google the first few words.

And if you're going to be calling people out on questionable quotes, perhaps you should research it better yourself.

There is no direct translation available. The original speech had no minutes taken, nor is there a script. According to The University of California at Santa Barbara: "A 1976 description of the speech by Niemöller names the Communists, trade unionists, social democrats, and the Jews. The 1976 version is considered by the Martin-Niemöller-Foundation as the most definitive."

If they're NOT spying on me, I'm going to be very, very disappointed.
