shock CEP2: This is driving many members on new devices stark raving bonkers! [Quasi-Resolved]

And again a new install, and again the experience is:

1) Select all sciences, CEP2 too and you get work, but never CEP2 and never a word as to why.
2) Set profile to only CEP2 (Still only 1 default allowed), to find out if it is maybe the BOINC measured network bandwidth and you get told there is no work.

Does it require to send over Lucky Luck to get any?

Should this be in the CEP forum?

Re: CEP2: This is driving many members on new devices stark raving bonkers!

We are working to update our server code to the latest from Berkeley. We are doing this so that we can get the ability to send out tasks of different sizes. This will allow us to manage the growth we are currently experiencing (i.e. we can send small tasks to Android for FAHV and much bigger jobs to PC's which will significantly reduce the tasks per day).

As we are currently merging our changes across, to the latest from Berkeley and we are freezing the code while we do this.

A 4770 would be eating through CEP2 like twinkies [a one size fits all, for all I know]. It says there is no work, yet a slower device is getting them... veritable eye-roller.

Eventually, one wanted to come down [after setting the selector to unlimited, yes], but had wrong size warnings on the key application files.

438 World Community Grid 11-12-2013 21:05 [error] File wcgrid_cep2_qchem_6.40_windows_intelx86 has wrong size: expected 63270912, got 2765615
439 World Community Grid 11-12-2013 21:05 [error] Checksum or signature error for wcgrid_cep2_qchem_6.40_windows_intelx86

Which used up the quota for the 11th

Then after midnight UTC they came piling in after the application managed to come down successfully.
