Okay, things are working properly, but I could still use some help. I am trying to use my GPU. Everything works fine until the screensaver kicks in. Then the screen looks like an old movie without enough frames per second. I have tried modifying the settings to increase both the % GPU used and the frames per second. This change didn't seem to impact things.

Any help with how to solve this would be great.

Not all GPU's are up to snuff for running graphics like screen savers while the GPU is doing work. Since WCG does not currently have GPU work, you may want to take your questions to the forums of that project so that experienced users there can give some pointers. I personally don't recommend running a screen saver if using the GPU. If it is important to you to run the screen saver, you could possibly limit the GPU's usage via an cc_config or app_config file.

One more detail which may help solve this. The screensaver does not "flicker" when it is showing the World Computing Grid page. It is the page for my specific project which does. My current project is "Mapping Cancer Markers". I will try switching projects next to see if this is tied to the project, or my setup.

Well...typically I would say keep the questions on topic, but to eliminate yet more posts asking about GPU work... Not all science apps can be ran on GPU's. With that said, the ones that can then require someone who knows how to program at least one of the multiple programming languages available now. CUDA, CAL, OpenCL, OpenMM, etc... Which language you are familiar with can make a huge difference on what cards you can use and the types of apps that can be ported to them. GPU processing is really still in its toddler stage in life. WCG has stated multiple times that it is up to the scientists to port their apps to GPU. If they don't have the resources and/or desire, then that is that.

Traditional forum etiquette in tech forums is to post your system details/specs. Those can give clues to the problem you experience. If you are getting GPU work from other projects, please post what other projects you are supporting. Not all GPU apps behave the same. Even projects with multiple GPU apps will experience different behavior based on which app you are running. If you are not running ANY GPU work, then the problem could be the CPU usage. Especially if you are actually using an APU. You should look and see if the behavior continues with LAIM (leave application in memory) is turned off.
