I can't turn on my Lenovo quad, so I am suspecting the power supply has a problem. The last work I got for that computer from WCG was on Jan 26 so I think that's when the power supply went out. I will go to Best Buy this morning to check it out and get a new PS if that is what is needed.

It is possible that is the problem. Are there any lights on the back of the power supply? If so you could google it. I have a customer coming that had a similar problem but it sounds to me like a video card. I will know Saturday when he shows up with the machine. In any case you can get power supplies fairly cheaply at www.newegg.com

I just noticed. I have some of these MCM tasks that are taking 14 hours and others that take less than 4. Almost 4 times as long. Anyone else seeing this kind of variation?

It is possible that is the problem. Are there any lights on the back of the power supply? If so you could google it. I have a customer coming that had a similar problem but it sounds to me like a video card. I will know Saturday when he shows up with the machine. In any case you can get power supplies fairly cheaply at www.newegg.com I have already taken the computer to Best Buy. An initial investigation showed no fans are running, and when powered on, there is a large light on the front of the box that oscillates between dim and bright and this was not on either. |

Well, it certainly could be the power supply ... probably is. I would Google the exact model number and "Won't power up" or some such and see if you can find another cause, unless you left it for them to fix. |
