switching from XP to Linux Mint

Greetings:

I have 2 older XP boxes I want to switch to Linux Mint. Do I just let the Windows work units complete, stop new work, install BOINC in Mint and restart?

Will it see the computer as the same or will it see it as a new computer?

Re: switching from XP to Linux Mint

Hi,

First finish those work units and set BOINC not to get new tasks. Then install Linux Mint, install BOINC, attach to WCG and you are good to go. If you can (i.e. if your hardware supports it), install Mint 64 Bits as some projects, namely the Vina version of Fightaids@home get a huge performance gain.

A new computer will be created.
