Currently there are only two members:
----------------------------------------  Two are nearly there - Jason1478963 & Mamajuana (me) How do I join the Exclusive Club? I hear you ask... Well, the first prerequsite is to have a SNURK Sig, then you have to have the reached the '1Tflops' mark of crunching. So the big question is this Are there any BIG crunchers out there who could join, but don't have A SNURK Sig? Hopefully this will promote the Sig and a little competiton! I really dislike the idea of promoting competition
Hopefully this will promote the Sig and a little competiton (sic) This project is about cooperating together to get results not about who invests the most money. Its easy to be #1 here at WCG. All you need is to budget $200,000 for a new rack-mounted server farm and the cash to pay the electrical bills. Its money that makes you #1, not effort or interest or competition.Yeah, your Gflops are better than mine. Way better. But I figure the scientists are a lot happier about my 250,000 results than your 129,000. I think that because I have more results. You will think your flops are more important. IMHO, I find promoting competition is juvenile and demeaning, but we may need to disagree. Heck we can't even be recognized for what we have done already. |

SNURK, would it be easy to add some code to the effect:
if(Perf=>1,000,000,000,background=anothercolour,"") So that anyone who was in the 1T club would have a different colour background in recognition, but revert to black if they fellout of the 1T club? Or would that mean changing all sigs, well those that get really close? Would appreciate your comments SNURK |

It was only about a bit of fun... The important thing is the crunching, sending the results to the project scientists to assist them in reaching their goal. It's not about who has the most money or who can return the most results, points or Gflops, it's about having some fun on the way. This thread is not likely to spur someone on to spend £/$xxx to join the club, it was and is about those who are currenty unsung hero's getting a little recognition and as always having fun! However, if more members feel the same way, I'm happy to delete this thread... I appreciate your opinion, just sorry you mis-interpreted the reasoning behind the thread - Fun and if it prompts a few new sig requests and a few more results to be returned, can that be a bad thing? |

I don't see why you can't have some Fun while crunching away. I'll never (unless I win the lottery) reach your level. But I'm okay with that. Maybe Bill Gates will have pity on me and donate to my crunching budget..      |

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your thread Mamajuana. I enjoy reading your posts and having a wee peek at what you are building. Nothing wrong with having a bit of fun while crunching. Its all good.
