does wcg realy need it to send about 50 news mails in under 5 hours?

----------------------------------------sorry, but if the admins are to stupid to change this error after more than 5 hours.. that's crazy. i have spend about 18 years cpu work-time and about 3 years gpu work-time. but i don't spend my time to delete the same news again and again. I'll bet that clingy ex you probably broke up with years ago isn't looking quite so bad now by comparison - LOL.
----------------------------------------Seriously though, it (or something) seems to have helped with the active user stats. So I have to give WCG credit for at least trying and seemingly succeeding in doing something about what had been a disturbing trend. It would be nice if they could do it w/o ticking anyone off, and I do understand how it might be annoying, but it seems to be benefiting the community so try to take it in stride. Have you tried creating an email filter for messages coming from that address? Most email software, even web based email, will let you do that. I know you shouldn't have to resort to such measures, but it might give you some relief while this gets worked out. BTW, thanks for participating and try not to let this bum you out too much. It's unfortunate that a well intentioned WCG email has resulted in an unacceptable level of spam and no doubt the tachs/admin staff will be working to correct the error. Bear in mind though the time difference, it's a weekend and there's not 24/7 staffing.
----------------------------------------Leaving aside the spam issue I agree with twilyth that it's good to see WCG targeting InActive members. I note yourself and the other member justifiably complaining about spam are currently InActive 03/01/14 15:39:19 [1,530+ hour(s) ago] and 26/12/13 22:34:36 [1,715+ hour(s) ago] so the targeting is correct. The text of the email, shown in the screenshot, is good although a link to the current project list, or to MCM1 specificallly, might have been useful. |
