What's with the laziness, why no GPU projects?!?

Who's being lazy here and not getting me work to run on my GPU?

I bought the equipment, I pay for the electricity, all you have to do is send me work units. Since I bought the Radeon R9 280X for$320, a $50 more expensive option than the Nvidia option which is intentionally garbage for compute. I'm sitting on $60 worth of depreciation here, and AMD just launched a card with similar performance that uses 60 watts less power. I mean, I'm one of your top 5000 people here!

Why are you sitting on you rears?

Re: What's with the laziness, why no GPU projects?!?

Because none of the current project have resources to develop the GPU app (CEP2, I think), and some just aren't suitable (Fightaids@home). No idea about MCM.

As branjo pointed out, there are lots and lots of discussion about why there are no GPU projects at WCG.

Doubtlessly the guy 'read', chose the most suitable opencl hardware, amd, and just made a humorous insert. Technicians in 99.9 percent of cases do sit on rears when working, lest they use one of these

Much better for the other backside laughing

Re: What's with the laziness, why no GPU projects?!?

How many of those complaining about the lack of GPU workunits are taking classes in CUDA or OpenCL so they can try converting some of the current applications to run on GPUs? I'm taking such a class now.

Re: What's with the laziness, why no GPU projects?!?

Can you share info about where you're taking the GPU classes?
Are any good ones available online? We'd be interested.
