Hi,
----------------------------------------so on a work computer I had on-board intel HD2500...yesterday came the nVidia Quadro 2000 on an PCIe slot...both of them are used for SETI@home calcs, until WCG comes with GPU support... right now BOINC runs only on nVidia...can't get intel to work also! here is the list what I have already done: got to BIOS, on-board GPU is enabled...it is listed in Device manager under Win7...updated drivers AGAIN for intel HD2500...and still I get message: 10/14/2014 3:40:17 PM | | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: Quadro 2000 (driver version 307.45, CUDA version 5.0, compute capability 2.1, 1024MB, 873MB available, 480 GFLOPS peak) 10/14/2014 3:40:17 PM | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: Quadro 2000 (driver version 307.45, device version OpenCL 1.1 CUDA, 1024MB, 873MB available, 480 GFLOPS peak) 10/14/2014 3:40:17 PM | | OpenCL CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz (OpenCL driver vendor: Intel(R) Corporation, driver version 3.0.1.10878, device version OpenCL 1.2 (Build 76413)) 10/14/2014 3:40:17 PM | | app version refers to missing GPU type intel_gpu 10/14/2014 3:40:17 PM | SETI@home | Application uses missing intel_gpu GPU 10/14/2014 3:40:17 PM | | Processor: 4 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz [Family 6 Model 58 Stepping 9] 10/14/2014 3:40:17 PM | | Processor features: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss htt tm pni ssse3 cx16 sse4_1 sse4_2 popcnt aes nx lm vmx smx tm2 pbe 10/14/2014 3:40:17 PM | | OS: Microsoft Windows 7: Enterprise x64 Edition, Service Pack 1, (06.01.7601.00) 10/14/2014 3:40:17 PM | | Memory: 7.89 GB physical, 15.77 GB virtual 10/14/2014 3:40:17 PM | | Disk: 100.00 GB total, 24.80 GB free any suggestions? ![]() |

As soon as you (1) connect your monitor to Intel GPGPU and (2) add
----------------------------------------<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>to your cc_config (Options), you will be able to use them both ![]() Cheers ![]() ETA: for check purpose you can also try Collatz. ETA2: there might be also (3). IIRC, it has something to do with Intel SDK installation ![]() ETA3: yes, there is the (3) - check my post here ![]() ![]() Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. And not all motherboards will let you run both integrated video and video cards. It is becoming more and more common these days, but as I stated, not all boards will do it.

The deal is...I got intel HD2500 hooked up on one monitor & nVidia Quadro 2000 on another! Both pictures work...
----------------------------------------But not both GPU work in BOINC... :/ EDIT: everything works after restart! now using dual cards on dual monitors...and all is so much faster... ;) will send procedure tomorrow! ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by KLiK at Oct 16, 2014 1:44:28 PM] |

1. Have you installed graphics drivers from Intel site or from Windoze?
----------------------------------------2. Does your BOINC Event Log says "using all coprocessors" (or something like this)? 3. Have you tried to keep only one monitor connected to intel GPU? ![]() Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Shrubbing@Home since January 5 2006 ![]() |

INSTRUCTIONS:
----------------------------------------1. you have to have some type of on-board (on MBO) chip that has a graphic card chip (GPU)...but not all GPU will calculate data for BOINC...for more information about that, please go to: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/GPU_computing so list the GPUs that you have...in this instance it was intel HD2500 (which can do math calcs & which I had been using on SETI@home project - sorry WCG, you don't have GPU support currently) 2. put the another card in PCIe slot...in my case it was nVidia Quadro 2000, without extra powering from power supply unit (PSU)...also, be sure that you haven't overstepped PSU wattage! 3. go in BIOS & put MBO GPU on "always on"! 4. put one monitor on MBO GPU extension connector or put DUMMY on the connector of the MBO GPU! THIS IS IMPORTANT! without that many (if not all) GPUs will not work...and neither will BOINC work... in my case I put the monitor on intel HD2500 & second monitor on nVidia Quadro 2000! 5. boot up...login...put the drivers for the new card...recheck the drivers for the old MBO GPU, but current should work... 6. restart after installation! 7. it should run both GPUs now! if it doesn't work, try this: - reinstall the GPU driver again for MBO GPU or manufacture of the GPU - check if the CUDA, OpenGL or OpenCL have been put with the drivers - install the CUDA, OpenGL or OpenCL drivers - check if it works - install the CUDA, OpenGL or OpenCL SDK drivers that should fix the problem! after every of this step check if it works... NOTICE: GPU will work after restart (boot up) of the OS...simple restart of the BOINC will not work! ![]() Hope this helps someone! ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by KLiK at Oct 16, 2014 3:06:53 PM] |
