Re: New BETA test - Sept 10, 2014 [ Issues Thread ]

@uplinger,

The pc did 30 without incident, at least boinctasks logged them as 'reported: ok +', but see only 15 on the result status pages for beta19. There show 14 valid, 1 pending validation. We're they migrated off that quick?

@lavaflow, only 8 out of my 13 are now listed under Results Status, so I see the same quick deletion of some results. I agree that it's unusually fast for a beta, but uplinger did say that it's going well.

Yes, assimilation is turned on which once a result it validated it should clear off. Things are still looking well. We are working on Alpha testing fixes for the issues we have seen.

Tony, as for the invalid, some computers have cpu issues, or were overclocked and caused an issue. The overall invalid rate for the beta was very low. So nothing to worry about here.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Participating in beta is added satisfaction, but not getting the chance to see the outcome of half, well you can fill in for that. Pretty please, leave your assimilator off or keep in running with a 12 hour delay as otherwise having api's to extract the results to a sheet wont work. Don't think you want us running the scripts continuously and pepper the servers. d oh

Good to know that the BETA test went well smile

One regarding WU size. In an earlier post re the BETA test Uplinger said:

00007 has 30 minute average work units (yes some are a lot shorter)
00008 has 4 hour average work units
00009 has 1.5 hour average work units

Will this be a feature post project release? Shorter WUs are always welcome especially for part-time crunchers. The tendency, since the Water projects and HCC GPU finished, has been towards longer running WUS so a new project with sub 4 hr WU would be good.

I agree it is a privilege to participate in beta work. it is complete luck of the draw if we get work. I find it interesting how some people can get large amounts of work & the likes of myself that unfortunately missed out on getting any work for both beta runs for this project. I am just letting my feelings be known. Better luck for next time wink

I haven't seen a single beta unit on this rig in ages. Not for this project or anything else. Just the luck of the draw. No point in getting upset about it, so I don't.

You have a good point. I will just be patient and hope I can grow to the next badge one day

I hope this project launches soon. I am excited about a new project.

I know it has something to do with the climate or food... (or not, just an idea from some things I have seen)

Re: New BETA test - Sept 10, 2014 [ Issues Thread ]

I had two successful WU on an old Dell E520 running the most recent LTS Lubuntu. They successfully survived a stop processing, shutdown and reboot (with OS updates). Do I need to post this info here in the future or is it picked up in the info sent back with the WU?
