Re: New BETA test - Sept 18, 2014 [ Issues Thread ]

Greetings,

Everyone should have received credit for errors or server aborts for this beta. Looking at my own personal stats I see that this was the case. Please note that credit/cputime/resultcounts are only granted if certain time criteria are hit.

Yes, we are working towards the next beta at the moment, but it will probably be set to run tomorrow if everything in alpha goes to plan. (NOTE: you are not allowed to hold me to promising a beta tomorrow, all the stars need to align.)

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: New BETA test - Sept 18, 2014 [ Issues Thread ]

Hi Uplinger, I appreciate this is baited and it is trial and error I just have a question in regards to the first instance of this result got granted 1.7 hours of run-time but mine did not get granted anything. In total the task was running for about 9 hours but because I turn my computer or at night the task had reset when it had received the server abort command. I have a total of 12 of these tasks. The task in question is BETA_ ugm1_ ugm1_ 00012_ 0417_ 0-- If you would like me to list the other tasks let me know or feel free to email me you can find this by profile. Thanks for the consideration. I am reasonably sure I can say this from all of the participants thank you for trying to make it fair for everyone.

KWSN stands for The Knights Who Say 'Ni!'. We would all be severely disappointed if you did not start whistling along.

Re: New BETA test - Sept 18, 2014 [ Issues Thread ]

Speedy51, when I look in the database for all the results you have, they all show the same thing. 0.0 seconds of CPU time reported. They also show a very simple stderr for every single result.

<core_client_version>7.2.42</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
aborted by project - no longer usable
</message>
]]>

This to me makes it appear like the result never started. As I can say, I am going off only what is in the database. But I will look into results of similar showing to see if there is a trend I did not notice originally. I will be keeping the assimilator off until I'm fairly certain all has been cleared up for members.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Thanks Uplinger, yes you are absolutely right they are all showing 0.0 seconds of CPU time reported. This is most likely because the tasks were reset to 0% when I restarted my computer. I am hopeful we will have better luck with the next round.

Those were probably some of the units many of us got that never did any actual work because of the incorrect input files mentioned on some previous page. I would imagine there's nothing the tech's can do to give us points for these since the WU doesn't record elapsed time and no CPU time ever happened.

But since that problem has been fixed and another round of beta's should be released tomorrow (Not holding you to it Uplinger, promise :p), I guess we'll all just have to try and make up the time with those.

Hello Uplinger, I processed 9 Beta WUs in the last beta trial. All nine error out fot "MAX Time Elapsed" after running from 11 to 13 + Hours. These claimed and where granted 24 / 24 pts. Why is the claimed and granted pointage so low? See below for details:

Thank you for your dedication...
