I scanned through the FAQs, I've searched 'discrepancy', 'results', and 'contribution', but nothing seemed obviously applicable. I also tried to watch the WCG Help videos, but the links didn't work for me.
Why is there a discrepancy between my Results Status and my Contribution History? My Results Status shows 11 work units returned since Oct. 13, yet my Contribution History shows 45 work units returned since Oct. 13. My Contribution History: ![]() My Results Status: ![]() |

debsgr8,
Workunits are removed from Results Status on an ongoing basis. Sometimes they are not even there for a day before they are removed. Results Status would quickly become unusable otherwise. |

My guess would be that only "Valid" results are shown in the contribution history.

If they removed quickly, how can I tell if I've had any 'invalid' results? If you have an Invalid result it will cause a "repair" WU to be issued. Until the "repair" job is returned by a wing man, and validated, the WU cannot be removed from the system. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at Oct 29, 2014 7:52:44 AM] |

Can see there time being bought when a task errors or goes into pending verification. With invalid, there's already a quorum, no reason to delay assimilation beyond the regular clearing times.

I only occasionally check my results... maybe once a week.~~~ jonnieb-uk said: ... the WU cannot be removed from the system. When you say "from the system", do you mean my results page, -or- do you mean from going out to other crunchers?~~~ lavaflow said: Can see there time being bought when a task errors or goes into pending verification. I don't understand what you said. Could you try again, using small words (maybe of one or two syllables) so I can dissect and process the information you are trying to impart to me? |

Unfortunately, once they're uploaded back to the project from your host the only place you can see them (failed tasks) is on the results status page. How long it stays up is both up to the project, and dependent on how quickly the task is completed and validated by other user(s). On some BOINC projects, you can look at your tasks up to a year or so. As soon as your task comes back as an error, another replication should be sent out to another user--which usually has a shorter deadline.
----------------------------------------"Pending Validation" means the project is waiting for another replication of the same task to come back, so yours can be compared to it. It can be marked "invalid" or "inconclusive" as well, depending on how the others finish up and compare. There is a maximum number of replications that can be sent out, so a "bad" task doesn't clog up the system indefinitely. |
