Re: Outsmart Ebola Together - Crunching Chart

gb009761, not sure where you are on making it to sapphire, but if you are are putting all your cores to crunch OET you probably will be ok. I'm toast on my quest to diamond (currently almost at 3 years). The good part is that the data will be available to scientists sooner, so hopefully there can be some kind of vaccine or treatment by the time the next outbreak happens.

Re: Outsmart Ebola Together - Crunching Chart

Just put the percent changes reported into my unireversal polish calcsheet... if this trend persists, 90.00000000% by Wednesday will move the completion date to May 27, 2016. Will that work for you?

Re: Outsmart Ebola Together - Crunching Chart

CJSL, I'm approx. ~30 calendar days away from Sapphire, so as I said, I "should" make it with plenty to spare, although it wasn't that many days ago when the projected end date was saying August...

So, the sooner HST & CEP2 become more active than they currently are, the better - as it'll add that bit of breathing space.

Edit: Thanks for that SekeRob - just so long as the expected end of project date is towards the middle-end of May (if not later), then I'll be fine.

Re: Outsmart Ebola Together - Crunching Chart

Well here we are again! Still smarting from my unsuccessful run up to Emerald for FightAidsAtHome, I'm trying to get to Sapphire for OET ;), but blindsided by the Project Completion Date. So if SakeRob and gb009761 are talking favoritism, count me in! :). Regards.

I also was surprised by the sudden jump in completion percentage. Dusted off my old Droid Razr (remember those?) and started crunching on it. The team's points-per-hour statistic really takes a hit, but if the phone keeps working at least I should achieve my first-ever sapphire badge. Fitting that it would be for EOT because a newspaper article about the fight against Ebola on WCG attracted me here in the first place.

Re: Outsmart Ebola Together - Crunching Chart

I just got my 10 year and no hope of reaching 20 years now. I
am off to other projects, that should free up a few WUs for those still trying to reach their goals, I had 25 cores of various speeds crunching OET. Good Luck all!

Yeah, saw that... at this speed, is it really expected to make it to Jun? At this rate of progress, it's not going to make it beyond April ! wink

Re: Outsmart Ebola Together - Crunching Chart

If you put the recent percentage changes in a curve, yes, the mean is > 1.5% per day or so [fat thumb in the air], so from 87 to 100 would be < 10 days. Think though the soup boiled over somewhere, turning into burned broth. o0
