Looks like the badges above Sapphire are missing. I will correct this soon. Thanks, -Uplinger Keith Maybe this slipped your mind? Yourself, deltavee, anhhai, and [SG-FC] hl have all obtained Sapphire badges and are presumably crunching on to Diamond5 which is still not available!. [SG-FC] hl Dec 15, 2014 1:08:30 PM Finally getting a funny badge (X-Badge, 1st Level ) wink . You can only imagine the drawing power one single member had on OET1 to get 16,610 results validated for this project, when the 13 average is less

Right now with 70K active members there would have been a 1 in 5 change to even get 1 in a day. Since there's so much exclusive pull on the OET1 feeder, practically it is a next no chance at all at this time for general multi project crunchers, The Unfairground ![]() |

It is/was easier to get some beta wu than getting oet wu.
----------------------------------------Some user achieve sapphire and first diamond others like me only got 5 wu since the project started. ![]() |

It is odd. two of my computers get lots of OET but other two are running dry. No rhyme or reason.

It's all timing. Your system has to ask at the right time and ask frequently.
----------------------------------------Myself, I can keep all my cores running on OET 60-80%. Some systems grab more than others, no real explanation. But yes, you do have to work for them if you want work. In the meantime as mentioned in another thread. Be happy the scientists are getting their results returned nearly real-time. ![]() |

Sorry everyone for not getting to this sooner. But it is still on my list of things todo. I am currently on vacation and not near my machine with photoshop to make the modifications necessary. It is top of my list.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Keith, I too hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday.
----------------------------------------Upon your return, please can you seriously consider making OET1 a fairer playing field - i.e., implement the 2 WU's/core suggestion that has been made quite some time ago (at least, until there's a far greater number of WU's to go around). As, I see that, if implemented, it'll bring several benefits; 1. People will know exactly what the playing field is, 2. They won't be hammering the WCG servers for WU's all the time (even going so far as to be inventive and trying to 'trick' the system), 3. Everyone will get a fair crack at badge hunting, 4. People will stop (or at least, lessen) their complaining on these forums, 5. The work will still get done - just in a more fairer way, 6. By implementing this system, people's caches will automatically fill up with OET1 WU's (if their machine is below the 2 WU's/core and there's OET1 WU's available), then be backfilled by their "reserve" project. 7. Consider implementing this practice for ALL new projects, until there's enough WU's to satisfy the demand - as that way, it'll allow a far greater number of machines to return WU's, and hence, highlight any issues that may have slipped the Beta testing net. 8. People won't be wasting their time "micro-managing" the projects - i.e., switching between projects to backfill their cache, then reverting back to only having OET1 selected in order to try and catch some of these elusive WU's, 9. Any other reasons that I haven't thought of... (please others, jump in here and add to this list). Edit 10. Building upon a comment by JSYKES (see below). By implementing a procedure such as this, it'll help keep new crunchers who've been attracted to this project, here, whilst introducing them to the other projects running on WCG - as they'll also be able to grab a small piece of the action (along with everyone else). ![]() [Edit 3 times, last edit by gb009761 at Jan 2, 2015 12:20:29 PM] |
