Hi,
----------------------------------------I'm running boinc (FAAH) at my Android based Amazon FireTV. I installed the boinc.apk via sideload. All four cores are crunching, but it seems that after some hours it just stops crunching. Curiously, the timer of the workunits keeps running, but the progress bar is not moving anymore. My solution is, that I pause boinc and when every workunit has status "ready" I click continue. Then timer jumps back e.g. if the workunit had 13 hours runtime, it starts at hour three again (just an example) and then it really starts crunching again. It's really annoying to stop and start boinc again every few hours. Has anyone an idea about this behaviour? I grant boinc access to 90% RAM (FireTV has 2GB) that should be enough. I also tried to reduce it to 50% and also reduced the cores to three and two, but the problem still occured... :( Thanks fufu [Edit 2 times, last edit by _fufu at Feb 3, 2015 8:04:50 PM] |

The BOINC app site at Amazon shows me that the Fire TV doesn't support BOINC. So it seems there is no official release for BOINC on a Fire TV.
Independently, maybe a temperature problem? |

Maybe it's a case of there not being any remote control action :O))) ... after all when BOINC is on power saving device profile, and there's no mouse or keyboard input for 20 minutes, it goes too sleep, yes really. Does not explain why the (elapsed) timer continues, but that could be a piece of the -no BOINC support- mentioned by mibere.

Update:
I installed new boinc version 7.4.41 via sideload three days ago. Now it runs OET workunits without the described problem. :) I'm going to check FAAH next. |

Still the same problem with FAAH. But OET runs perfectly. :)
