"Computation error" on BOINC with FightAIDS@Home

I have a Nexus 7 and run the latest Android OS. I run BOINC with FightAIDS@Home but now all my tasks for FightAIDS@Home all say "computation error". I uninstalled and reinstalled and get the same error. What's wrong? It all started when I upgraded to the new android OS, and had to wait for the new BOINC to come out that supported it. Once it did, I downloaded the new BOINC but now I just get those errors.

Same problem with my Nexus 7 here.New BOINC should support Android 5.0 but I see no evidence of that.

Re: "Computation error" on BOINC with FightAIDS@Home

If you bought/upgraded your smartphone/tablet to Android 5.0, then you will get instant error with FAHV... it's not PIE compliant in it's present production release. In fact from reading, only Einstein/Albert have a Android 5.x working application.

WCG is currently testing a new version, see Android forum where this thread belongs, and the BETA forum. This one will run on Android 4.1 and above.

angry Re: "Computation error" on BOINC with FightAIDS@Home

1/2 the time I can't connect to the server. So...new update kicks out a huge chunk of people processing WUs with phones....real intelligent move. Guess if you don't want to use a $500+ phone to crunch with then you're not good enough. Nevermind that I have (and I'm sure there are countless hundreds more out there) about $1200 worth of cell phones that use to crunch 24/7 and now get nothing. Thanks. angry
This makes the second and last time my phones have been rendered useless. I will never again bother loading BOINC on a phone. angry
Wonder how long it'll be before my 2,4,8,16 and 24 core computers won't be good enough?

Re: "Computation error" on BOINC with FightAIDS@Home

I have 2 Kindles running, perfectly for the past few months until a week ago. Suddenly they started getting computation error. every work unit that it downloads it immediately says "computation error" Some output file cannot be found. At first I thought it was the kindle but they both have the same problem

At admin: Please update footnote 3 of https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq to say the minimum requirement is Android version 4.1.

I'm willing to bet you are running android 4.0 or below. Updating to 4.1 or newer should fix your issue. I had to install Cyanogenmod 11/ Android 4.4.4 on my Kindle Fire 2.

Re: "Computation error" on BOINC with FightAIDS@Home

I have a Galaxy S2 running Android 4.0.4. For the last several days every task has been failing immediately. Do I need to update it to a newer version? If so, how would I do that manually?
